What brake blocks are you using in the Slosh for hitting those big casts? I always tend to err on the safe side and put the red ones in my SLX20SHA and also in my 7HT. Interested to know what you are using?

Simon Gejl hi mate thanks for kind comments, the area was around akureri within a few miles ... can’t remember exactly was a good trip lots of cod, pollock and coal fish nothing massive just plenty of volume

I think the one you’re referring to is a coal fish although in the video is mostly cod, a small halibut and an artic char

I had a nice john Dory in the early 83 from penzance weight was 9lb from a boat trip that i had .

Just been with these guys wreck and reef fishing 10 miles off st ives, the skipper sam and his son lewis are top guys. We caught a bumper catch of pollock. So much so my cornish nickname is now jonny pollock top day top guys...book now!...jonny pollock

Christ! I didn't know Steve had passed away! So sad! Didn't know him really well, but met him a few times on marks- really genuine, affable guy. I'm so out of the fishing loop due to work at the mo that I don't seem to hear about these things until well after. Sincere condolences to his family and close friends.

they were 30 strong within 10 minutes as much as I protested it wouldn't of made much difference .... sometimes you just need to land a few big baits beyond them (which i did) and they generally get the idea these guys were hard core and did'nt give two shits..that's life I suppose, Karma always wins in the end ;)
