    Andrew... I have an 8 port ATEM Mini Extreme ISO and a Sonnet Echo Express SE PCIe IIIe. Can I split all incoming sources on the ATEM to two DeckLink Quad HDMI PCIe Capture Card and use both? There are some features of the ATEM that I like (Multiview) and I want my cake and eat it too. Any thoughts...

    My Panasonic lumix s5 ii can be set as line level input as well as mic level. Will line level use the camera op amps? Am I best connecting the zoom h6 with line level in or using mic level as low as possible, thanks

  • @CourseBuildersAcademy
    @CourseBuildersAcademy7 күн бұрын

    I would try using the line level in the H6 and starting with the most amount of padding ( lowest audio level ) and then adjusting up to suit, I would rather have the H6 doing the work than the camera

  • @MrPaulGale
    @MrPaulGale7 күн бұрын

    @@CourseBuildersAcademyI’ve been having a play. I think you avoid the inbuilt mic op amps of the dslr if you use line in. By adjusting the sensitivity of both to roughly match, I can control the gain purely from the wheel on the H6. Sounds good and simpler than using mic input at low sensitivity. The is my experience so far anyway.

    Great vid. Your setup is superb. Great lens, lighting, sound quality, and super clear and useful advice of course. I bought a Shure MV7+ Mic. I have a Canon 90D DLR camera. Can you recommend which cable I need to use to connect the Mic to my Canon? As the cable that comes with the Mic doesn't fit. Any other recommendations welcome.

  • @CourseBuildersAcademy

    you need a audio cable with a 3.5mm pin on each end. It should be TRS not TRRS like this www.amazon.com/UGREEN-Headphone-Auxiliary-Compatible-Earphone-Silver/dp/B088CZLHGL/ you should also make sure you plug it in the "MIC" input on the camera and not the Headphones socket - easy mistake to make that is

    I’m searching to get the Shur SM7dB ! Do you think the zoom h6 is enough or do I still need an interface for the best sound quality ?

  • @CourseBuildersAcademy
    @CourseBuildersAcademy13 күн бұрын

    The Zoom H6 can act as an interface, I use it like this all the time. You will need to get yourself a FetHead or Cloudlifter with the SM7B. The FetHead is a lot cheaper is does the job just as well IMO: www.tritonaudio.com/product/fethead/

  • @ShadiZanoon
    @ShadiZanoon13 күн бұрын

    @@CourseBuildersAcademy Thank you for the reply. I'm getting Sm7db as it has an internal preamp! Do I still need a fethead? Do I get the same quality using Zoom H6 as if I'm using an interface 4i4? I'm trying to get out the best of the expensive mic!

  • @CourseBuildersAcademy
    @CourseBuildersAcademy13 күн бұрын

    @@ShadiZanoon I would get the SM7b and if it's not loud enough then get the FetHead - you will most likely need one, but do a test first. IMO the H6 is amazing and pretty much does what the 4i4 will do plus a whole lot more, I could write a list of all the extra useful things it does but it would be a long list, I would be totally lost without mine. I even bought a spare one in case they stop making it or go out of business.

    mine sounded soooo good coming out the box - butttt I was coming from a blue yeti, with ZERO tweaked settings - so the dullness of the MV7 was so welcome lol

  • @CourseBuildersAcademy
    @CourseBuildersAcademy16 күн бұрын

    The Yeti is a condenser mic and for the money it's a good mic, the MV7 is more forgiving when the room you're in isn't a perfect recording space, the MV7 is a dynamic mic.
