    Right with you on that. Also, just did some rigging from other tree rig point yesterday, but without the need to drift. So much safer.

    Hey man couple of questions if you have the time: When you're adjusting the floating tie-in angle for your climbing system are you coming to the ground and lowering the whole high-line system to adjust it at a safe location? When you lanyard in to something that unstable are you clipping to something that has an easy breakaway in the event that the tree you're removing fails? Hopefully these questions make sense. I appreciate the series and the valuable knowledge you pass on! Cheers!

    the rope I'm climbing SRS on is attached to the highline on a hitch climber pulley with a climbing knot so it'll catch/ stop/ hold my position for me, until I get to the middle of the high line, then the hitch ends up facing "down hill". If I'm that concerned about the tree or part breaking under me I don't use a lanyard, just kinda grip with my legs or a free hand. def not by the book & wouldn't encourage others to do that but imo it's better than being accidental dragged to the ground 🤷

    @@LawrenceSchultz3000 Gotcha, thanks for the info! With work positioning so adjustable on the high-line I could see the redundancy of a lanyard anyway. Especially if you would be throwing it around something hazardous. Thanks for the response

    Was wondering about this and a good way to do it. Rather than a best guess alpine butterfly placement depending on how you tie to the other trees. Good stuff

    Google ‘sling leg force calculation’ it’s the same concept.

  • @LawrenceSchultz3000
    @LawrenceSchultz30006 ай бұрын

    your weight & forces you generate are highest when you're in the middle of the line. you're creating a deflection force on the line. the tighter the line is (flatter the angles is that it's at) the more force you make, up to around 6x's. so your anchors have to be solid enough to handle that side pull.
