    It definitely outperforms the bandit in almost every way. Where it comes up short is battery life…..which has been a real problem a couple of times. For multi day trips it just doesn’t cut it. I forget to charge it during the day and then it’s dead when I need it. I’ve been carrying both because I can’t rely on the nebo. And to be honest, the light output of the nebo is just unnecessary……the bandit can rattle around in my tank bag for a week and run for 30 minutes every night without any issue, and the light output is plenty.

    I purchased the Lee deluxe power quick trim kit after reading and watching videos on how quick and accurate to 0.001 of an inch this was. I was intending on trimming 9 mm cases and if I liked it was going to purchase a set for all the calibers I reload. The specs in my reloading manual states the max case length is 0.0754" and a trim to length of 0.744" with 10 adjustments of 0.001". the very smallest length this will cut is to 0.0751". and the adjustment dial does not stay put where you set this. I called Lee and spoke with a technitian and he told me I was exspecting far to much accuracy from the tool. I quess I was exspecting to trim the case to the starting trim length for the specified calber. The technician stated that it will trim it somewhere within 0.754" and 0.744" and thats good enough. I reload for consistancy and accuracy not close enough or good enough to shoot. If I am gooing to take the time and effort to trim the cases i want them all the same not somewhere in a range. So the 10 increments of 0.001" dial is to get it whithin a range of 0.754" and 0.751" not where you want it. I wanted to return it and was told to return it to the dealer who I purchased it from who does not take returns.this is not a precision instrument. Not worth having in my opinion.

  • @TourmotoDesign
    @TourmotoDesign5 ай бұрын

    I wouldn’t count on any power reloading tool to be capable of the high precision you are wanting. In fact….i wouldn’t count on anything from Lee to be too precise, which is funny considering their name is Lee PRECISION. That’s a job for a hand trimmer for sure. But for a good enough job when converting hundreds of 223 to 300 blackout….itll do the job. It has done for 9 years now.

  • @wlbrobinson
    @wlbrobinson3 ай бұрын

    This is good for range shooting and making a lot of acceptable range rounds in a short time, My Lee pro 1000 will load 600+ rounds easily in a couple of hours. I can keep all of the rounds on a 3" target at 100 yards no problem using all lee reloading stuff with bulk powder and pull down parts too. Paid for itself in just a month or so of shooting. When you want High accuracy you do each step by hand as any fine craftsman would with the appropriate tools and expenses, that's not what this is for at all, as he stated he's not a match shooter.

    Camera is almost always blurry. I like this. I've been using the RCBS 3-way trimmers. Both with the hand wheel and removal of it and mounting a drill. It heats really old holding the case after a while. I've had carpal tunnel release surgery in both wrists. This thing no matter how often I may need to replace Bart's is much easier and accurate. There are tips and tricks to get a feel for making the trim more accurate and consistent. I also have the RCBS Case prep station. This trimmer from Lee is a great tool for any reloader to have in their box of tricks.

    Don't get one. This damn thing will have you going weird places for no reason. Even if you plot out a route. It will have you go down a road 200 yards and turn around. It will havr you go down people's driveways, cut acros their yard and get back on the same riad you were on. And if you miss a point(tracking point) it stops giving directions until you go back ana hit that point.

    Your wish has been granted, this evening I will pull the trigger on the Zumo XT. I gave up two wheels when my first son was born in 95 ( CBR1000 & Z1300) Id lost too many friends & acquaintances over the 20 years & didn't want him & what became his three brothers following in my foot steps. I still have screws holding my left wrist together, rods in my right arm & spinal issues that already mean two wheels a physical impossibility, so my Spyder arrives April 10 while I can still do three (fingers crossed) Lets hope none of them read this post, I've hidden my passion for two wheels while they were living with me, but being a petrol head has rubbed off on them & we now have a fleet of M Cars parked on the drive for family occasions. This will without doubt leave a few open mouths & WTF(s) I'm sure but a surprise it will be, I have to do it now while I can, it's booked & paid for so no going back. Thank you for sharing your time & efforts with the zumo unboxing, set-up & instructions, I've been using sat-navs for so long & being without would surely leave me lost after the end of the road. Wishing you & yours Health & Happiness, Mike : p.s. I have also just ordered the Denali Sound Bomb 🙂 Happy Days, the count down is now real.

    Really impressed thank you for your time & sharing your experience. Watching you feed the power lead plug through the backing plate & fixing with a small screw was exactly what I needed to answer all the questions I had in my head about hard wiring the XT. I had read somewhere Garmin don't recommend a USB cable (something to do with lack of power resulting in corrosion) Also means I dont need to buy separate mounting kit given whats in the box, so Huge Thanks, you've saved me wasting money buying stuff I didn't need & shown me its not rocket science.

    The biggest problem with this pot is not being able to flip the handle around and use it like a normal pot. They should have made the handle in L shape with no bracket then the bars on the handle would slide until you twist it tight. Looks like a couple companies on Amazon already did this however and made the exact pot with a better handle design.

    I wanted to hear about that Rotopax mounted inside the rack of the middle bike. Is that possible with most adventure bikes?

  • @TourmotoDesign
    @TourmotoDesign Жыл бұрын

    That only works if you have symmetrical luggage racks. Most bikes have the exhaust in the way so the rack has to mount over the top of the muffler on one side. Some racks keep the rack the same distance from the bike on the opposite side to keep things symmetrical but you’re left with an empty space on the side that doesn’t have the muffler. So if you have that gap you can fill it with something. There are a few products designed to fill that space but most are bike and luggage rack specific. A rotopax is a great generic option if you have room.
