    I see you using steel brushes to clean. We were told to use brass to prevent from damaging the screw. Due to the cost of the brass brushes is this a true statement. We use asaclean ex grade to clean screw instead of PVC. With this you don't need a hydraulic screw press because the asaclean make it easy to push out with a steel rod and peels off screw by hand. Another reason we don't use PVC is because we run acetal and those two materials don't mix because it will cause it to gas up

    dude you should pass the pvc until he gets white and hard, lower pvc temperatures to 120 degrees or even 110 and pass the pvc (don t fill the extruder just small quantities) at low rpm until he gets completely clean and hard. Instead of that too,l use one rotating machine with air...more practical and cheap. also the car, lol, you used to remove the screw is pretty basic..there are a lot better and safe.

    You are right if using 400 °C for copper annealing, not 400 °F. I would think the data in temp unit was messed up when compiling the first column. For example, nickel melting point is 2651°F (or 1085 °C). By using the ratio rule given in the second column, R.T. for nickel is calculated as 901.3 °F (or 494.7°C). His presentation slide shows R.T. for Nickel is 1100. It must be in °F.

    Not quite sure what you mean by overcome the turns. If you mean the wire is overlapping the strands above it on The block this could be that the Helix is not set properly and the dancer response it's not working 100% correctly so when the machine changes speed The Wire becomes loose a little bit on the block and if the helix is incorrect the wire will jump over some of the other strands already on the block. You must have a dead helix set coming out of each die so this does not occur. Without seeing the actual problem in a video it's hard to say though.

    What is the typical cleaning techniques for diamond dies ?

  • @tmaxwelljr
    @tmaxwelljr4 жыл бұрын

    To remove drawing oil and diamond cutting compound most people use Ultrasonic cleaners with a mild water based decreasing fluid. To dry them after the ultrasonic a piece or rice paper is pulled through or compressed air is blown into the die.

    If the die box is not locked down tightly after adjustment or if the wire is scooting up the block as it gets hot, the helix can change. Is the helix change happening on a standard push up block or is this occurring on a dead block? Also if the die bearing is very short say less than 10% bearing length it is hard to control helix.

  • @Jcschultz1988

    Is it common for the start and finish of a run to have radically different helix? I can start the job with a 0” helix but end with 5” helix by the end. Any suggestions?

  • @BrutalniyEagle
    @BrutalniyEagle4 жыл бұрын

    yes, the die box alignment is the most probable cause. Also, check your drawing speed.

  • @WireAssociationIntl
    @WireAssociationIntl4 жыл бұрын

    If someone is setting the helix with a die only there are two things that can cause it to change once the machine is up and running. First if the wire is slipping or shooting up the block as the machine starts running, this will cause a change in the set helix, also if the die box is not lock down properly it can move during the run the helix can change. If someone is setting the cast or helix with casting rollers, like on a dead block flier the setting can change as the wire warms up and the rollers heat up and expand. This expansion in the size of the roller is just like slight moving that roller in. You usually only see this with small diameter wire. Also, more often when using rollers, is if the bearings in the roller are going bad, the dragging of wire over a roller that isn’t spinning smoothly or not turning at all will definitely cause the cast or helix to change. When turning slowly or if even when a roller bearing is in your hand it is very difficult to determine if the bearing will run smoothly at high RP Hope this was helpful

    This video has great information and the presentation is also great, however I think the background music is unnecessary. Trying to listen and learn something while music is playing in your ear makes it difficult for some people. I wish video makers could put their background music on a separate track with a button to opt out.

    @@WireAssociationIntl The background music is a TERRIBLE DISTRACTION Please don't ~Thank you If people want to listen to background music while someone is teaching, let them please themselves, but not force others. The mixed music/interference cannot be REMOVED from the edit. Until we have good-enough AI filters. {soon or even already, but these still degrade the voice quality} This pervasive choice/trend to add bakcing music to everything seems to be generational. TikTok clips are somehwat different -- because it is a short infotainment format, and often quite charming, clever and very funny. All the KZread clips where percussive background thumping while someone is speaking = rude tragic mistake. Makes most speech unslisteneable. {imo} IF the speaker or singer WANT music playing wihle they recording, ok that is different. But adding it later should be done rarely, and with great care. YES I understand some people love this technique and sound mix, and have no problem. It better to just do NOT add the muzak. Then, anyone is free to add their own sound later. Or to listen and concentrate without obstacle.
