This is by far the BEST video for texturing bottom layers! I prefer straight cut at the bottom versus angled down towards the face but it looks perfect! So many horrible videos on YT lol.

Thank you for posting! I followed your video to cut my daughter's hair yesterday. She has very thick hair so I separated 2 more sections of her hair to make it easier. The length was reduced by about 7 inches so it was a big change. I am going to do a little layering in the front today. The cut looks beautiful on her! She is 28 years old and I have been cutting my kids hair for years using photos and videos. Thanks for this excellent, detailed tutorial!

whenever i cut an "-A- layered bob" when i transitioned from the back area to the sides area i always had hard time telling what "elevation degrees" i'm using at the sides area (with diagonal sections) since "elevation degrees" refer to "vertical volume creation" and not to "diagonal volume creation" those diagonal sections really mess with my mind since both elevation and overdirection applied automatically if you choose to work with diagonal sections (except if you are at 90 degrees which will give the same result in any section shape). if you think about that, "vertical section elevation" is actually an "up-down" overdirection of the section. while the second type of overdirection is "left-right" overdirection. both of those happen at the same time while using diagonal sections, and that's why it's hard to tell what are the exact "elevation degrees" you are using. when it's hard for me to tell what are the degrees, it's also hard for me to recreate the same shape on the right and the left side of the head while working with diagonal sections. salon education has so many things un explained, i had to create my own terms to be able to explain how things work so i understand your struggle with naming your techniques and trying to teach them.
