I'll honestly say that having the biggest concern be not improving is a pretty good place to be in, since it feels like it should be so easy to improve (overall) in the positions that were so bad last year (OL, RB, WR in general, CB)

When it comes to QBs or any player for that matter yes the money is big but players still need the right fit to succeed. If it’s down to a few thousand bucks less then our culture and system will still play a huge role.

Please share some of that pot you're smoking. Missouri is a far better team than South Carolina, and I'm being nice in putting it as gently as i did.
I don't think there is any question that we will be a better team overall than last year - I personally feel we will be MUCH better. The big question is will that better play result in 2 or 3 more wins. We have a really tough schedule against a lot of teams that are ranked well above us at least in the pre season polls. If a couple of things go right for the Gamecocks, the results will be there. Rocket Sanders is one of the biggest keys and he has a TON of reasons to go out and ball this year because he could potentially be a top 5 or 10 RB in the draft next year. I think, given the number of WRs we have, that at least 2 or 3 will emerge and really shine (I have a feeling Dalevon Campbell will be a very pleasant surprise as should Nyck Harbor). With the increased depth on both sides of the ball we will definitely be better - its just a question of can we beat some teams that people don't expect us to. I would love to see Debo Williams' prediction of throwing donuts on defense come true in games 1 and 2 - that would get us off to a great start. GO COCKS !!

@@user-ll2zt9fb9x That's the storyline from last year, my friend. This year should be much better as long as the line stays healthy, because it didn't last year. Starting true freshmen and I think even a walk on at one point is not a good way to have an effective OL.

Brady Cook, (Whose BEATEN Carolina 2 years in a ROW) and thier TOP receiver, Luther Burden are coming back. You're obviously expecting some Upsets, (Like most Gamecocks fans seem to think EVERY year) But I just don't see it happening. The schedule is just too BRUTAL!!!
@@user-ll2zt9fb9x I mean yeah, upsets are how SC rolls for whatever reason. Last year it was Kentucky. It's hard not to have optimism when the biggest problem was the injury-laden OL and a defense that was inconsistent but really got it together the last 3 games of the season.

And I wouldn't call beating Kentucky last year an upset. (They're QB was really struggling) The 2022 win was a MILD upset, but thier BEST player, QB Will Levi's was hurt, and didn't play against the Gamecocks. If Levi's plays in that game, South Carolina would've Lost.

I WORRY MOST ABOUT INJURIES AND CONDITIONING. I HAVE NO REASON TO BELIEVE THEY WANT BE IN GREAT SHAPE. BUT IN THIS NEW AREA OF NIL AND TRANSFERS YOU ALMOST HAVE TO CODDLE SOME PLAYERS. I KNOW SEPTEMBER WILL BE BRUTAL WITH THE HEAT AND THE TOUGHER TEAMS WILL WIN THE 4TH QUARTER.

I'm not high on any SEC team being all world or going undefeated. History still says it's easier to win a national title than the SEC title. Every single road game is a potential loss whether youre #1 or #124. This conference aint for the weak. 10 wins in the Big 12 isnt the same as 9 wins in the SEC. All we need to do is stay healthy and every game is winnable

There's no way the South Carolina game can be a trap game for Missouri. By the time Mizzou lines up in the other Columbia, we already will have our playoff situation defined. Either we control our own fate by winning the final three games, or we're already out, in which case, we'll be taking out our wrath on a couple of teams we own, SC and Arkansas, or we'll be giving it everything we've got to make the playoffs.
Carolina should finally take care of business with Mizzou this year. No reason we should've lost these last several games against them. No disrespect to them, but it's time to restore order.
