    Sweet Brother !!! I was on that waiting list for the first Tree Motions available from Sherrill back in he day, and it was definitely the most comfortable harness I'd ever worn, especially after 29 years with the Stringer Saddle we called um back in those days. I've been through 3 Tree Motions to date with the last one sitting in my truck box with the suspenders because it seems to want to slide right off my flat ass since I wear it at waist height for comfort and the suspenders kill my shoulders and restrict movement. I'm on my second Sequoia SRT and attached Augusts suspenders to the newest one and removed those after the first day also, just so I can move, but it seems to stay on me most the time unless I'm supporting anything bigger than a 200T. I still keep one of yours behind the seat in my chipper truck and the other one still brand new with suspenders in my tool truck box in case I have to support a larger saw which is preferably the 395XP instead of my OG 2100 which is way outdated to drag up a tree. Your design was ground breaking, or Tree Shaking, so to speak in this industry. It was Bad Ass looking and as comfortable as they get, especially if you had to be in a tree 8-10 hours and the added ring around the D Rings on the later version saved your hips from excruciating pain with bigger saws. I'm honored to have indirectly met you on here, and just now purchased the KINISI. Rock On Brother !!! Blessings !!!

    Brilliant video, As someone who is looking at starting rock climbing, the amount of detail regarding kit is spot on. Was a nice finish too which I believe is southstack Lighthouse? A place I've been before and would love to go back and climb ❤.

    FYI knot used on rope is not prussik, its klemheist, very similiar to prussik, but its not the same and you shouldnt squeeze them with yourhand

  • @SaoirseStuff
    @SaoirseStuffАй бұрын

    It's a french prusik, not a klemheist. They're friction hitches not knots. You are supposed to squeeze it, as shown. All these friction hitches are colloquially called prusiks

    when you try to onsight a route like this.. do you ask something about the gear to bring or you just carry a ton of it?

    How do you mitigate de-sheathing the bridge line?

  • @nate2838
    @nate28382 ай бұрын

    Richard Mumford has a video from a few years ago using a one directional pulley, the roll'n'lock, and has done de sheathing tests on it. The results as I recall were that it would take a ridiculous amount of force, ~4,000lbs, to de sheath a 16 strand section of climbing line. Needless to say, if you desheath your lanyard, your body has already been severely broken. Given those results, I sincerely doubt de sheathing is an issue for a cam specifically desinged for use as a bridge adjuster. Also, it would not surprise me at all if he has made a video about this exact question. So definitely check out his channel Richard Mumford here on youtube.

    Yes! As a lifelong climber (all forearms and a skinny waist) I’ve never been able to buy a medium harness so have always had less gear loops. This is good thinking from an excellent company. I won’t mention the price I just want one!! Cheers DMM

    Excellent video series! I do have a question regarding the gear anchor. The belayer may be pulled up above the anchor if the leader takes a big fall. Shouldn't the lower piece be multidirectional to prevent this scenario?

    As someone who doesn't climb much because I'm living at the non-mountain end of the country but who leads a bit and tries to keep my "leading mentality" alive, I've found two series of instructional videos of great help. Yours is one and Glenmore Lodge in Aviemore is another. Both well illustrated and explained. Hope you don't mind me mentioning the competition! All in the cause of keeping us safe.

    Very impressive Clare! Thank you Clare, Alice, and DMM for making this video series. I learned a great deal that I was previously unsure of thus far in my journey, as well as reminders of the parts that I do know well already. Of course I will be going with a seasoned climber for my first trad climb, but this playlist was a perfect introduction to the "big picture" for trad climbing. You covered the introduction to all the parts of the sport and did so in.a well rounded, progressive and concise set of digestible parts. I feel more comfortable with the process after watching, although I am well aware that I say that while standing on solid ground. Thanks again Clare and Alice!
