This background music.... I remember it fondly from Okami on the PS2 and later the remaster for Xbox/Switch + the sequel Okamiden. Warms my heart to hear it again, ill probably play it again later tonight!

Great video. I lived in Japan for 3 years. Not far from Kamakura. My Japanese father in law gave me a katana from the Kamakura period. It is still in Japan and difficult to bring home to Australia. Love walking the street of Kamakura and the surrounding hills.

I find it strange how a lot of the people you talk about don't even have a Wikipedia page written about them. Despite being so powerful, these people are obscure figures outside of Japan. Some are probably even obscure in Japan these days as their names have been forgotten over the years.

What if it was all just a marketing ploy or a way of competitors bad talking the competition? History like this becomes mythological it's so far away there might as well have been dragons back then. The world is so massively different today, and records weren't kept nearly as well as back then.

Its not a curse. They were seen as the best blade makers in Japan so of course the richest and most powerful families would want them. The makers have nothing to do its uses.
