When they came around the second time, it was only Carter and Artis. John "Bucks" Royster came out of the car. My theory is that if Carter did do it, then Carter and JOHN ROYSTER did it, and Carter was like "Why tf do I have to sit in the prison cell, and he is free?!" And "When he testified in 1967, Royster slumped in the witness chair and the judge asked him how many drinks he had downed before coming to court that morning." So he basically dumbed himself down so he doesn't get himself in trouble.

I think the issue is that it was not something we would have become involved in, except for what they thought we could get out of it, including the armaments businesses, and the whole effect on the American economy. So, for some people, that was a sacrifice of lives for money/power, both the lives of our own soldiers, and the lives of the other side, and all the "collateral damage" toward civilians.

How hard would it have been to get a marker pen and some white cardboard or something and use them to make some signs directing the fans to the pens either side of the central pens. It would have cost pennies but it would probably have saved lives. The main cause of the disaster was the decision to replace Superintendent Mole with Duckenfield 3 weeks before the semi final. Mole knew what he was doing. He knew of the potential problems at the leppings lane end. The previous 2 semi finals had ticket filtering barriers on the way to the leppings lane turnstiles. It was there to check fans had tickets but it also slowed the fans on their way to the turnstiles. That enabled the police to get the fans into proper queues. That wasn’t in place in 1989, hence you had the huge scrum at the turnstiles. Also the central pens should have been closed off at 2:30pm as they were already full then.

Respectfully, your information is incorrect. It was never proven that Capt. Norval ever served in the military and it has been said that captain was just a nickname. Cedella was from 9 mile not Kingston. Capt got her pregnant and married her. A few days after Bob was born, his father abandoned them. When he was around 6, his dad came back to 9mile and took him from Cedella with a promise of putting him in better schools in Kingston, but instead, he had Bob take care of an old woman in her home, until Cedella finally found him and brought him back to 9 mile. His father died when Bob was around 10 years old.
