    Why do Pakistanis say about someone as in "voh sugar ki patient hai". Why do you say "sugar life style" hai. Please use the word "Diabetes" as in...."she or he is a Diabetic" or "she or he is a patient WITH Diabetes". Say, "Diabetes is a life-style issue"...... and so on. Sugar is a crystalline substance that you put in your food and drink to sweeten them. Yes one tests for blood sugar - but don't conflate "Diabetes" with "Sugar", the food substance. Let's refer to things properly please. Also, if you were not born diabetic and have type II, then that is easy to reverse if you eliminate, virtually, all sugars from your diet. That is, modify to eating low-carb. You can eat fruits like berries (strawberry/raspberry/blueberries, etc.) a sliver of Galia or Cantaloupe melons and other low-carb fruits, lactose-free milk, or watered down double-cream in your tea, a reduction of caffeine and roti made with vesan and bran (oatbran/wheatbran), eliminate the high-carb foods and eat nothing with sugar added. And, by the way, HBA1C (Glycated hemoglobin) readings are a more reliable indicator or where you are, rather than random glucose readings. Change the diet, eat any carb you do eat, paired WITH protein, as that will tame the insulin response, move more and throughout the day. You may find that your blood sugar gets into the normal range and you will not need medication. You will improve your insulin response and the reason it seems that you, as a type II diabetc are needing insulin is because you seem to have developed insulin resistance - and that only happens when you take no heed of the disease and keep eating what you should not and not moving enough.
