It's funny that each dream level has it's hero. I mean, we all know Cobb did something essential down in Limbo but it wouldn't have mattered unless Arthur hadn't been heroic in Level2 and come up with that elevator solution at the same time as he was fighting projections.... which would not have mattered unless that van driver (Yusuf?) had not come up with the idea to back out the van from the bridge and down into the water at the same time as he was trying to outrun baddies shooting at him. If one of them had failed, none of the other's actions would have meant anything. So Cobb is not the only hero here. It was a huge team effort

This kind of confirms my suspicion that time passes way too fast in the snow layer, and way too slowly in the hotel layer. In the snow it's at least more ambiguous - who knows how long they spent skiing between cuts. But there's no way in hell that the guy floating around the hotel managed all that in the "couple of minutes" that he has while the van is falling. He had to maneuver all of them with their cables, stack them, move them down the hallway, get the explosives, take them to the elevator, attach them correctly, and i think he even fought a guy in between all that?

It's a fascinating watch. However, I do believe it's best to leave it in the movie: watch it and wonder yourself what's happening in the upper layers of the dream / reality.

Why are the dream levels not consistently sped up? Doesn't being deeper in a dream slow time in the next layer up relative to you? Why are there points where the snow level or the hotel level is running at the same speed as the van level? There's also times when the hotel level is slower than everything else. Shouldn't each one be progressively more sped up? I guess to answer my own question it's probably because the scenes don't last long enough to coexist perfectly on a 2x2 square for the entire 4 minute video, there would be sections of black. So you have to slow down parts of it to line up the important events like the van flipping over or the avalanche. Makes sense, but I guess it kind of disregards the whole time dilation concept for the sake of continuity.

I would love to see a version of this, where the 'real time' matches whatever the deepest level is, and the higher layers are slow motion, with subtitles... So you can watch the film at its full length, and see the simultaneity playing out.
