this was silly. only 2nd game back. LA had no chance against the Bulls. That Bulls team wasn't just Jordan. So stacked. Rodman on his own a psychological defensive terrorist, Pippen and Harper were even better than Michael on D, and Pippen also an all-around player. Kukoc and Kerr off the bench. Just really deep and defensively sound in Chicago. I think Rodman was the best player on the Bulls that year. 57-7 with him. And he had an extraordinary finals when jordan only shot 41% for 26.5ppg I think? Anyways, Magic was still amazing. He's the GOAT, no question. He could do anything. Jordan is better on D and could dominate games but Magic would control that domination by dictating the pace. Michael only started winning towards the tale end of Magic's career. Johnson won 5 of their 7 first meetings and then Jordan took 8 of the next 10 H2H (incl finals) when Magic played with injured Worthy and Scott and post Cooper, Rambis, Kareem, Mac, Nixon, Thompson, and Wilkes (all guys who played with him at different times but could've helped). Magic essentially had rookies Smith and Campbell, 2nd year Vlade, Terry Teagal, and Perkins was probably the only decent guy he had in their finals run. I don't want to revise history with what-ifs but Bill Walton was once asked that if Magic had ANY help in the 1991 finals, if say Worthy hadn't sprained his ankle against Portland, would the Bulls have won that series and he said "Hell no". There'd be no debate if Magic left on top 1991 but he just didn't have the pieces and Jordan did. Jordan only won 1 playoff game his whole career without Pippen and missed the playoffs twice in weaker Eastern Conference. No one ever talks about his weakness to make his teammates better by inclusion but doesn't matter when folks are conditioned to buy the hype propaganda machine behind MJ

I think it was around this time that Dean Smith cautioned Jordan about doing his 360-degree slam dunk. Coach Smith thought it might "embarrass the other players." It was a little show-ey so Jordan refrained from doing it. Wow.

You described it perfectly! that season was pardon the pun "Magical" every bulls game was an event! and when they played the magic, it was like playoff games during the regular season...it was the best a basketball fan 14/15 year old could hope for at the time. I loved it. Alt-Rock/Clinton/Chris Rock getting huge/Bulls winning titles every year. Ideal pop-culture life back then :)!

Everyone in Chicago hated the Knicks and Starks, but I would say I would give my left nut to see those old skool Knicks face my Bulls all over again. Now that I'm older I can clearly say Starks was a beast and did everything he could to man up to GOD. He couldn't of play him any better,.. Jordan was just that amazing. Long live the 80's & 90's basketball.

@jpfmavren1 It does seem odd. He could use his left better than most right footed players, but for some reason seems to have preferred the outside of the right boot... this seems odd for a man who chose to come in from the left so often, particularly when Keizer and Rensenbrink were around...
