Beautiful, very good lesson for learning Encaustic wax, I have tried it and know it's addictive.

Lovely end result! But I would have to know a lot more than I do, which is nothing, about this art form to understand what you're actually doing, what your tools are, and so on. Maybe, for those of us to whom this is unfamiliar, you could have a voiceover or just more print that explained such things as what kind of wax (is it actually wax?) you're using, what you're drying it with, and so on. Intriguing!

Thanks for your input....I will take that as a challenge and use voice over on my next one. For now I use encaustic medium made by R&F Paints and sold by Dick Blick. I just heat it in an electric skillet and brush it on a primed, with latex paint, board. I fuse with a heat gun until smooth. Then take a photo I’ve printed (reversed) onto parchment paper using a laser, not inkjet printer, and burnish it onto the wax. Gently fuse so it better melds with the wax. Add another coat of wax...fuse again and paint. I recently taught a 13 year old to do it and she made a lovely piece. Just be careful as everything is very hot. I did write a book on this and one other technique if you are interested. Thank you for watching and thank you again for your thoughtful suggestions. Susan

@@susanleith5619 Terrific response, very thorough and helpful. Thank you. I'm quite sure anyone who didn't already understand this technique would appreciate this kind of explanation, even those of us without the fearlessness of a 13 year old.
