basketball player: "I'm going to play as low as possible and make sure I hit the ball as many times as possible." drummer: "I'm going to play a mid solo that stops my right hand constantly to hit cymbals, and isn't close to the fastest way to play drums." Holy shit the basketball player won! Anyway, here's Tom Grosset clearing 20 hits per second, and there a several others that were closing in on him at the time. And if you google just his name, it'll take a while to find him. kzread.info/dash/bejne/g2161Llmh9WTlNY.html

8.5 foot release. Rubber is 60.5 feet from Home Plate. 105 MPH equals 220 Feet per second. 60.5-8.5=52 Ft. 52÷220=0.2363 Sec. From release, to the BACK POINT of home plate... That's insane to even imagine having to hit!!!

He is genetically gifted, if not, everyone would attempt to duplicate his biomechanics and being throwing with similar velocity. Stride length, while it can be increased, will affect other aspects of the delivery, so mess with one thing and others can be impacted, some adversely. Arm speed is largely a genetic gift, as is stride and lower extremity swing speed for a runner. Chapman is a very muscular man, while Randy Johnson was a pure Ectomorph.
