My reasoning is that he can remove and destroy golden cores in less than 6 seconds. Actually in the novel, shi qingxuan and xie lian make it clear that with enough spiritual energy, gods are able to change gender. So hualian is actually able to have children!

they made that “clear” in vol2 😭 every god can change gender they js don’t, sqx does it bc many worship him as female so he has more spiritual energy when hes a female. and the child bearing pills are enough to make any of tgcf’ characters have kids. male or not😝

MEANWHILE: Xie lian and wei wuxian both have tiny waists, they're both very 'playful' (in different ways), and they both watched their homes burn down without being able to do anything about it. Meant to be besties for sure

Fun fact: I'm not sure about the Novel but in the Manhua it's actually implied that Xie Lian might be able to change genders. Like.... the wind master always changes genders, buts says that their female form is much stronger after which the Wind Master asks Xie Lian to also change genders. The things that makes this 'Xie Lian can change gender' thingy more believable is the fact that Xie Lian doesn't say that he can't change, but rather after thinking about it says "I don't have enough mana/spiritual energy" TLDR: it's possible that Xie Lian could change genders if he had enough spiritual energy and wanted to do so. TLDR= Too long didn't read

All gods can switch genders! Lord Wind Master uses her female form a lot because she's worshipped a lot as a female, which means in that form she is a lot more powerful! Xie Lian would not be very powerful if he ever chose to swap, as no one worships him as a female (that we know of). I'm sure Hua Cheng wouldn't worshipping him as a girl if Xie Lian ever did want to use his female form though! :3

Hua Cheng's Mischievousness + Xie Lian's Denseness = Wei Wuxian HuaLian being wei wuxian's parents actually makes sense like wei wuxian's ability of controlling the dead is because his father is hua cheng the king of ghost realm and xie lian almost becoming the white clothed calamity is similar to how wei ying became yilling patriarch, yep i'm just gonna think of this as canon because there is no way this is a coincidence this makes perfect sense
