One thing I don’t understand about these pop stars is when they speak Korean they talk like they speak English yet when they try to speak English they can’t hardly speak it. What’s up with that?

What do you mean they talk like they can speak English, she’s speaking Korean and using some English words it’s not hard to do but actual full English sentences isn’t the same thing.

@@cray7499I also don't understand your statement. You say these pop stars sound like an ESL student when they try to speak English. As a native English speaker trying to learn Korean I know I must sound like the equivalent to those who speak Korean natively. The phonetics are quite different. Word structure is different. Sentence structure and grammar are quite different. On top of that these pop stars aren't living in an English speaking country where they are immersed in the language. Switching out a native word for an English word here and there is not the same as speaking complete sentences. If your issue is with them occasionally using English words in place of Korean words even though they don't actually speak English, then I'd say look at the same practice by Americans. Not uncommon for an American to occasionally say adios, or au revoir in place of goodbye for instance. It doesn't mean they speak Spanish or French. Korea has been culturaly influenced by America since the early 50's. Of course they are going to use English words sprinkled in.
