We have some very small back yard areas here in Florida. The plants are not the same, but general designs are great!

We are retired 2024;now and we too want to begin farming, but we are City folk! We saw Jason Brown story on CBS Morning Lessons 101 Sacrifice and we were both inspired to leap forward with the cost of food today! Today, we got the time and acreage to begin w/ my mom age 95 and Aunt age 104 (childhood homeland) DeSoto Parish HELP how to get started? We got a tractor and a truck ( clueless to farming too); willing to LEARN! Serve the community & families n need(children & elderly)

The UK episodes are far superior the the American episodes. UK version focuses on the planning, development and execution of the garden, with little focus on the workers and their self promotion ra-ra. I watch the full UK episodes whereas when cut out the talky talky of the American episodes, there is only about 10 minutes of seeing the important parts - how the project was done and to actually view the outcome at normal speed.

Why not visual details about the what the landscaper actually did instead of a rushed verbal blahhh blahh about what he did?

  • @bulldwang1931

The most interesting parts are rushed through eg the assembly at 16:23 lasts about 3 seconds, so much shorter than the "one more push" 16:17

too much talk, too much focus on the person, not enough about what (work) is actually being done, how it is being done, Is this a video about the people working on the project or how the project develops and works and the end result of the project?

Tibetan cheery tree may look good now, but what about 5 years time. They grow quite large - about 9metre high and 7 metre wide, I a few years it will take up about a third of the garden.

Bamboo looks wonderful for the 1st year or so until it's roots start appearing everywhere, uplifting paving etc. These roots are a nightmare to manage and worse to remove. Only way to have bamboo plants is inside a container with a saucer so the roots can not grow into the garden itself.

My brother and I, as very young children, could have made a better hide out than that Alice in Wonderland thing that they did. Just plopping a play house and some weird looking things around does not make a play area. Does a five year old kid really want to sit and watch worms??! Put a big puddle out back for the kids to constantly be getting wet in?! Crazy. Must be a low budget show. I really don’t need anyone to bring more rocks into our yard. I spent weeks digging rocks out of the garden as I expanded the garden! Kids want things to do. I don’t think that these people have ever lived with a child. I don’t think that any of them ever played basketball either. After a couple of rains that basketball “surface” is going to be a mess. It is not going to hold up for a child in a wheelchair. Turn your kid loose with a bow and arrow! I quit after that one. Such really bad ideas. I can see why this was canceled. I think that most parents can figure out what their kids want in the backyard or in the “garden” as the Brits say. I suppose it would be nice to have someone to do the manual labor but other than that….run and hide if you see these people coming.

She’s a dreamer, we had cows, sheep, dogs and 40 acres of hay and it was nonstop work. Farming requires humbleness to accept help, to help your neighbor but she is what Monty said “a city person”. I hope they don’t spend any more of her parent’s money on her dream.

Wonderful programme, thank you! Just one thing though, the Encephalartos woodii isn’t the only one in the world, I accept the creative licence in making the programme but the truth is that whilst it is extinct in the wild, there are about 500 specimens internationally - in South Africa this cycad is in the Kirstenbosch garden and the Durban Botanical Garden - they’re amazing plants and it’s very special that Kew gardens takes such great care of their specimen.
