Traveling Kunz

Traveling Kunz

Hey, I am Ferdy, and I am living in Kinmen, a group of islands that are part of Taiwan, but are also very close to the Chinese city of Xiamen. Kinmen is known for its rich history and cultural heritage, and it is a popular destination for tourists who want to learn more about the island's past. It is also home to a number of beautiful beaches and scenic spot.

I spent several years backpacking, and even longer working all kind of jobs. Meanwhile, I am more or less settled. However, I wanted to share my experiences and started making videos.

If you want to get an idea about living in Asia, especially in Taiwan, you are in the right place. After moving to Taiwan in 2023, I decided to start my travel vlog about living in Asia. And, of course, I speak about China, the Chinese Civil War and the history of Taiwan since 1949.

    I need to make a correction. In the video, I mention that I went to the hot springs in Yangmingshan, which is true, but I didn’t include that in the Yangmingshan video. Instead, I documented my hot spring visit during my trip to Yilan.kzread.info/dash/bejne/gX18m7GIqJrPfaw.htmlsi=xpC4mjJaZrLQAgnj

    Kinmen is Chinese. Taiwan is not. China has no legal claim to Taiwan. Kinmen & Mazu are China’s knee on Taiwan’s neck. To breathe, Taiwan needs to get rid of Kin-Ma. Kin-Ma are deceptive moorings that artificially and falsly tie Taiwan along the Chinese coastline. To sail free, the old Formosa Maru needs to break free from those treacherous moorings. To become Taiwan, the internationally recognized sovereign state, Taiwan needs to renounce rebel Chinese Kin-Ma Territory (rebel Chinese KMT). All the Chinese junk that the US unloaded on JAPANESE Taiwan 79 years ago needs to go by the window to exorcise (祓う, harau) and make that former Japanese island hallowed ground again.

    Matsu, kinmen and other island near xiamen was part of fujian province of China. Chang Kai shek claimed the island as part of taiwan during his escape when he was corned by chinese people's army, he uses kinmen as his escaped route.

  • @traveling_kunz
    @traveling_kunz4 ай бұрын

    Kinmen served as the last battleground of the Chinese Civil War. Therefore, using the term "claim" by Taiwan is inaccurate. The KMT defended the island in 1949. Following this, tensions endured, notably during the 1st and 2nd Taiwan Strait crises. Also, I want clarify that Chiang Kai Shek did not seek refuge on the island; instead, he deployed troops there. Further details will be provided in the second episode. kzread.info/dash/bejne/hJlpm6aPpZjYqps.html

    @@traveling_kunzDude if you really want your channel to grow, here is some advice. Nobody cares about Taiwan, let alone kinmen or Matsu when the topic is not directly related to how USA can use them against mainland China. videos about south Korea, North Korea being evil, Japan and China bashing are what gets KZread views in the Western hemisphere, or you might want to go to the island of Taiwan and make videos focusing on a Taiwanese audience. anything other than what I've just told you and this channel is just going to crash and burn hard.

  • @lakevon
    @lakevon4 ай бұрын

    @@traveling_kunzso if you are really serious about growing your channel and having your first hundred thousand subscribers in no time. you either want to start a china bashing channel and hope you become popular enough for USA propaganda arms to sponsor you or you can just migrate to Taiwan proper and make videos about how Good Taiwan is, how their food, culture, outdoors, language, identity, music etc is so good and mind you much better than the hated mainland. I bet you engagement and comments will be your channels destiny if you play your cards right. as for what you are doing now on Kinmen it is just a waste of your Time.

    @@lakevon As an amateur video producer, I'm usually grateful for any advice and constantly strive to improve my videos. But now I am struggling. Over time, I've noticed an improvement in my videos, and recently, I even invested in some 'new' equipment (second-hand) to enhance the quality of my videos, so stay tuned! I mentioned my position on China in the very first episode of my Kinmen Travel Tales playlist, so I assume you must have missed it. I'm not sure why you think I 'have to play my cards right.' I enjoy making videos, and while I'm happy if people watch them, I have a fulfilling full-time job and don't rely on a career as a KZreadr. You're correct that if I were aiming for reach and commercial success, adopting a radical populist approach like Steve Bannon could potentially increase reach- that is not rocket science. However, this doesn't align with my character and I am disgusted that you suggested to go this way.

  • @lakevon
    @lakevon4 ай бұрын

    @@traveling_kunz well thank God for your fulfilling full time Job. but I pray your passion for making videos on a dreary fujianese island like kinmen does not dampen over time. the reality is no matter the amount of time and sweat you spend perfecting your art, if there is no audience for it, it's as good as nothing. you may feel disgusted now, but I hope you still feel that way when you realize this hobby of yours is going nowhere, except maybe making you feel a sense of achievement, thou I'll advise you take up a cheeper hobby. but if you really want to take your KZread channel more seriously then take my advice.
