Well it’s easy to reject something that you don’t understand. Enlightenment does not give you powers to change celestial bodies… duh. He sees it as leveled up mage out of a video game. The enlightened being is in many ways less than. Incredibly ordinary. You surrender literally everything to God. And in that stillness and purity they return their consciousness to God. You aren’t going to get rich from it so yeah, i guess it’s not appealing to the non seeker or those looking for a power up

There are also cases of people experiencing unexplained pain when their loved ones have an accident or medical crisis, e.g., Tim Ventura had severe pain in his hand and later learned that at the same time this occurred his mother had burned her hand. (I may have gotten some of the details wrong on Ventura's story). Kind of hard to explain under the materialist paradigm.

Depression, anxiety, and fear is the best explanation of the dark night. I know, I’m am pulling out of the later stages of ten years of severe social anxiety. I broke through the depression 20 years ago and it never returned.

I agree with this guy. The west has taken the spirit out of Buddhism and replaced it with psychology and scientific thought. This is fine but the magic and metaphysics of Buddhism is considered allegory or myth. The west is wrong. They tried to hard to make Buddhism athiest friendly and scientific. Meditation and mantra does much more then create peace. There is an entire universe within us ready to tune into and explore. Magic is real, and it does work. Also the Buddhas do actually work with us and visit us to heal us, help us and teach us. Tune in☸️

I am a Buddhist but I prefer the Christian confessional practices; therefore I still do orthodox prayers like the cannon of repentance periodically . I do confess to the Bodhisatvas but they do not forgive, they protect you from your karma coming to fruition and the negative effects.☸️☯️☦️🕉️

I’m curious about Dr. Sledge’s views on thinkers like Schopenhauer, Wessel-Zapffe, or Rorty. I’ve noticed a trend lately amongst some philosophers: to regard human desperation for meaning(-making) as a sound reason to adopt traditional teleological schemas of various kinds; a kind of implicit acknowledgement that our little minds simply cannot do without such frameworks and that it’s reasonable to adopt them even if we are not motivated by earnest conviction in the metaphysics and soteriology of such traditions, lest we fall into villainous nihilism. But I think the most reasonable place to be a skeptic…is actually in a foxhole. The nihilism of the 80s and 90s had little wisdom in it, it was sophomoric smart-assery. The nihilism of today is wiser, it recognizes the direness of the moment, and meets it with a mixture of despair and curiosity, rather than running away into the safety of old fairy tales to look for courage. We must learn to be with our monsters completely, because they are completely with us regardless.

It's a shame that Dr Joffe brings his own ideological biases to this subject. The term "heteronormative" is embedded in Western academic discourse and queer theory, which pretends that there are more than two sexes and that "gender identity" is a legitimate concept that overrides biological reality (Joffe's "the symbolic is arbitrary" is categorically false). The so-called "third gender" of traditional cultures was a means whereby those cultures could accommodate the gender non-conforming i.e. homosexual men. As for trans-identifying individuals, I think that anyone who cannot accept their sexed body should not be engaging in these practices. Modern queer practitioners should develop their own practices, rather than trying to "correct" the established canon.

Good question. Enlightement is the knowledge of the superior realities of life. Let me explain why one would ask such a question : Birth of Man (1/2) When homo sapiens, a million years ago, had developed to the point where its brain was perfectly adapted to its shape, a pair of these individuals gave birth to a pair of twins whose brains could respond to the mental energy circuit of the universe. This gave them the energy to be able to reason, develop self-awareness and exercise free will. This event was immediately recorded in the universe and this couple was given the names of Andon and Fonta. This is how the first humans were born on this world, named Urantia. The word earth comes from the Bible and refers to all of creation. Thirty-five thousand years ago, human beings had fully developed their brains and found themselves at a crossroads. They either looked upward in search of their origin, or they looked down to the things of this world and became beings dominated by their intellect, with an atrophic cerebellum due to lack of use, but the evolutionary plan is perfect. Then Adamic Sons descended on this world. This Adamic couple had the mission of generating a million descendants over a period of a thousand years. These descendants of Adam and Eve have a body irrigated by purple blood, this blood vibrates at a higher frequency than red blood. Their mission was to mix with human races to pass on purple blood to them. This blood would have raised awareness of human beings towards the higher realities of life. Unfortunately, Lucifer's Rebellion would short-circuit this plan and these creatures subsequently became creatures of Lucifer, they are the inhabitants of this world. =========== The Cerebellum (2/2) If the brain responds to the mental energy circuit of the universe, the cerebellum responds to the spiritual energy circuit of the universe. Smaller and more refined than the brain, the cerebellum receives and captures spiritual energy, amplifies it and transmits it to the brain in the form of a thought or in the form of an image. Lucifer subjugated humanity by depriving it of all contact with the higher realities of life. To do this, he favored the unilateral development of the intellect. We call intellect everything that the brain develops and it is this intellect which dominates you today, unfortunately. Over time, the cerebellum, which was supposed to maintain contact with the Spirit, has become completely atrophied. The human beings of this world are born with an overdeveloped brain, which is subject to the mental energy circuit of Lucifer. Your intellect has become his throne. This is the reason why I came into this world. I came here below, in the flesh, to rescue you from its grip, by revealing the truth to you.

I would have swallowed this when I was young and read Castaneda. But knowing what we do now, it's less of an experience. As we know so little of his closest disciples, I feel I have no grounding on who this person is either.
