I NEED a setlist. I draw blanks all the time when it comes to selecting songs. I had to make a list for open mic nights. I may know hundreds of songs, but when you say “Whatta wanna play next?” I’m stumped. Plus, you should check with the bandmates on said setlist. Our drummer realized we had too many in a row in the same key, so we altered it. And being a drummer, he’s usually playing in the wrong key anyway. BTW, what is a J-flat?
@user-mo1df5hx1e18 күн бұрын
Yes, play what people want, but you have to establish your identity before you have fans pick your set list. You have to make the setlist and allow for fan input, but not let others pick your songs. It’s YOUR band, and it’s really got to be up to the singer what he/she can sing, even on a given night. If you’re outdoors and it’s smokey (last summer in the northeast) or your battling a cold, your singer has to pick the songs, not your buddy’s girlfriend.

Yeah, don't put the Mic half an inch from your mouth when singing or speaking on stage. Give it 4 inches from your mouth. Because if you record and listen to the sound, you will hear that the pop from your breath will make you sound like you over do your consonants and you will sound like you have got a lisp also. Stage mics have no pop filter. Do not put the mic in direct line with your mouth. overshoot it by an inch or so. Doing this will give clean and clear sound spoken or sung. And the mic will still catch breathy sounds if that is something want to use.😊😉

Checklists are great. Pilots and surgeons use them. I am not arguing against checklists. An alternative is to always keep everything you need in your travel kit. If you need to rehearse or practice with something, get a duplicate and practice with it. Everything you need for the gig should always be in your travel kit. Except your instrument(s), of course. That/those should be on the checklist.
