You don't need onions because when you fry the chicken it turns black quickly but isn't cooked inside

Many foods in the pantry don't spoil. Most are dry items like spices and instant noodles. As long as the packages stay sealed, they'll last forever. However, food production laws require an expiration date, typically three years from the production date. So, if you don’t mind and need them urgently, they should be fine.

Ecole and salmonella is tasteless and odorless... but canned goods can go longer. Noodles I wouldn't advise unless really desperate.

Char siu originally comes from Cantonese cuisine, and the word chā sīu 叉烧 literally means “fork roasted,” which is a nod to the traditional cooking method of skewering seasoned pork with long forks, and placing them in an oven or over a fire. So it’s pork not chicken but roast turkey in our household was based on 燒雞 siu gai (roast chicken) or 焗雞 guk gai (baked chicken) So which one is yours?

What a beautiful looking meal. How did we survive when there was little to no Asian cuisine? (Aust. in the early 70s) Many thanks.
