Dark Shadows Fans Unite

Dark Shadows Fans Unite

It is now official. As 12:01 a.m. on Halloween, the Dark Shadows Fans Unite You Tube channel has launched.

For the first 10 videos, I have included a variety. Two videos show actual scenes from Dark Shadows: My Top 10 Dark Shadows Scariest Moments and Dark Shadows Seances: Volume 1.

In the video interviews from the MPI DVDs, I found that a common theme for actors and for production staff was to tell stories about the cast members and give impressions of them.

Why Did It Work? is a particular favorite of mine.

In Their Own Words: Costumes and Make-Up and Set and Special Effects include interviews that really give you a feel for behind the scenes and all of the work that was involved in bringing us these 30 minute episodes, 5 days.

NEW to the channel. Cast member Interviews from the MPI DVDs that have been very popular. As suggested by a fan, a new scary moment was added and a video called My Top 11 Dark Shadows Scariest Moments was launched.

I would have thought Andre would have returned to find out why his daughter jumped off of Widows' Hill (again, I'm aware the actor wasn't available). You'd think he'd at least want to be at his daughter's funeral. As for the Countess, I'm figuring she stuck around to testify against Vicki, and was probably hanging around to watch her hang.

Nathan sure played Villain and Hero quite well to get Millicent to be gullible enough to believe in him. However, Naomi isnt fully convinced. Can't wait for Tower room scenes to be shown which will be a first on this show in this storyline.

  • @BethHarmon-uv7tl

Ugh, Millicent has fallen for Nathan's lies again hook, line and sinker. You'd have thought that learning the truth about Suki would have made her wiser, but it hasn't. If anything, this 'heroic' act of Forbes has made her even more gullible. Now, she believes that Barnabas was responsible for attacking her. I know it appeared that Nathan saved her life, but if I had been Millicent, I would be a bit more wary about his reasons why he was there in the first place. Her renewed faith in, and love for the detestable Forbes, is going to prove to be her downfall. Natalie was pretty much gloating when Peter told her that the judges were unmoved by Trask's written confession that Vicki was innocent. But Peter does point out that Angelique, more than Vicki, actually profited from the earlier witchcraft when both women first arrived at Collinwood. Angelique ended up marrying Barnabas, the son of the richest family of the town. At least the Countess was willing to entertain the possibility that the wrong woman was tried and convicted.

@@HalySolomon Nathan was never worthy of her affections, that's the thing. His heart belonged to her money, not to her herself. I get that Millicent would still have feelings for him, but she still should have been more on her guard. He's already lied to her once about his 'sister'. Who knows what other secrets he might have.

According to the Dark Shadows Wiki, "Trask married in the early 1790s, which resulted [in] the birth of his son Lamar Trask." Thus, when he arrived in Collinsport in 1795 he was already married and had a son. Through Lamar, he was the grandfather of Elias Trask, who lived in the 1860s. He was the great-grandfather of Gregory Trask, a cruel preacher and educator who died in 1897. It seems to be completely consistent with his character for him not to talk about his wife and son, nor even give them a thought, when he is away from them so that he can concentrate on doing "God's" work of witch hunting. Perhaps when Trask claimed he didn't have sex with women, he meant other than with his wife since sex outside of marriage is a sin. In the Big Finish audio productions of new Dark Shadows stories, their are indications that his claim even in that sense is not true.

A much deserved comeuppance. Trask so had this coming. And you know Barnabas relished putting in the final brick listening to Trask's screams. The good reverend now wishes he had listened to Nathan about staying away from the Old House. Nathan is setting up his scheme to win back Millicent, at the Collins' family expense to boot. Joshua would not have been happy with the Countess for telling Millicent the truth (or what he thought was the truth) about Barnabas. Frankly, I wouldn't have blamed him. Not sure I would trust Millicent with keeping a secret either, no doubt the main reason he didn't let her in on what happened to Barnabas.

Dark Shadows is full of great villain deaths- when Nicholas is recalled by the Devil, Garth Blackwood condemns Count Petofi and tells Barnabas and Charity/ Pansy to go, Judith's torment of Gregory Trask as she tells him he will not get out of that room, Barnabss confronts Abigail , Barnabas kills Forbes.Trask's death in 1795 is a great moment and both Frid and Lacy carry it off excellently.

While it's not the best time-travel storyline, the 1840 Storyline is perhaps the smartest, as it ties to events from the 1795 Storyline, and Lamar Trask may be the smartest of the Trasks presented in the series. Though he doesn't have proof, with Flora and Ben Stokes' diary providing clues, he and Gerard correctly pieced together the 1795 (1797) events surrounding Lamar father's, Reverend Trask, successful prosecution of Victoria Winters and the mention of Aunt Abigail who Barnabas was about to kill, but the fatal heart attack she suffered upon seeing his fangs took care of that. Also, how Lamar correctly guessed that "A" was for Angelique, that she was Barnabas' wife and that Barnabas was a vampire and responsible for the slow demise of his father.

  • @BethHarmon-uv7tl

Loved how Naomi tore up Nathan's letter in front of Trask and Millicent. Unfortunately, it's all too clear that, even though she won't admit it to herself, Millicent still has feelings for Forbes. Notice how she's trying to put the torn letter back together so she can read the message. Also admired how Naomi pointed out to Trask that Joshua would not be happy AT ALL, if he learned that the reverend was trying to intercede on Nathan's behalf by bringing a letter to Millicent from Nathan. Nathan knows Trask is doomed if he goes to the Old House (he's aware Barnabas is there), but doesn't go into specifics what fate may await the reverend. Why Nathan doesn't just flat out tell him that Barnabas is there and will very likely kill him, I don't know. Trask is aware that Barnabas is supposedly dead, but Nathan isn't. Then again, Nathan doesn't WANT Barnabas exposed quite yet, at least not until he uses what he knows to his advantage over Joshua. Trask ignores Forbes' warning and goes to the Old House anyway. Can't wait for what happens next.
