Steve's Travels

Tired of being a slave to greedy and manipulative governments / businesses , I sold everything and began travelling around Thailand looking for the best cities to live in.
My ideals of the best city would be
1. Low cost of living
2. Great food / coffee
3. Good quality facilities
4. low crime rate
5. Beautiful clean environment
Conclusion
As of May 2016, NO city in Thailand is suitable for long term living.

    Just got mine 2 weeks ago, buying it used with only 500kms on the clock. The previous owner had mounted a radiator guard, sliders, carbon copy mudguard and hugger, and I'm slowly getting rid of the Chinese tat that was put on by replacing the sliders with R &G as well as engine case covers and stainless bar ends. The bike is a beauty, the engine is gorgeous, and it handles beautifully. It now has 2000 kms on the clock

    I have the '22 model. I like it for a good street bike that is sensible and plenty fast enough, with great suspension and brakes. Personally I would have preferred the root beer colour but the SE - package tipped the scales for me - performance is more important than colour. You can also get heated grips from Kawasaki as an accessory - Nice to have here in Canada. Good luck with the bike , enjoy and keep the rubber side down.

    I bought a 2023 Z900RS SE in the summer. They haven't changed it at all. The only differences I know are in North America, we received the lower seat with less padding, and we also got bulb turn signals. Maybe they were trying to save money. First, I removed the saddle and replaced it with a Corbin Gunfighter saddle. I haven't done anything with the turn signals, but I put on a radiator guard and satin black grab handles for using a centre stand which the dealer also put on. The rad guard and grab handles were from Amazon. People talk about a twitchy throttle when you back off, but I only notice it in first gear, so I upshift fairly quickly. Another difference is the UK and maybe other countries have a security feature on the ignition lock. We just have a plain lock here.

    The throttle goes away as you learn the throttle response. Also sloppy chain causes it to be worse. I put the Z900 single wall equal length header . I got same decibels but the 15 hp extra the plain Zee has. Major improvement. The double wall chrome pipes are TINY inside w no cross over pipes and short collector. The mini fender does spray the radiator w gravel and tarnished the chrome pipes too. A shield isn't a gimic. Bugs clog radiator fins too . Dummy.

    I just picked up mine, brand new about 8 days ago. Got an excellent deal on it so it just under $15K. Like you I got a fair bit gear box clunk which I think is caused by the throttle snatch. Having said that the second time I took it out I found it had smoothed out to a fair degree and it's done about 823klms.. Having had a 2008 GSXR I found many similarities like the handling, seating comfort. Engine is different in power delivery, seems to be more midrange make 6th gear rollons from 80kph a breeze, even does it in 6th from 60kph with no problem. My 2008 Gixer had Tokico brakes so the Brembo's are a real change. At 6'2 I found that up to 120kph the screen does a fair job of keeping the wind off but once up to 140kph plus it's pretty ineffective, I believe a taller screen is available. Exhaust note is great, not quite as loud as the twin Yoshi's I had on the Gixer but more than enough coupled with the induction noise. Well I've been screwed royally on the insurance paying nearly 3 times what you paid so I'll be looking into that, considering I've got two other bikes, a house, and two cars insured with the same company. Oh and this was my 65th birthday present.

    Mate did you ever try the horn!!! you can't here it over 50km/hr of course with helmet on! The hidden cheapo horn is hidden under the fairing and next to the exhaust.Don't tell me it works in the garage or do you ride in the garage? Next the damping on the suspension is poor back and front had to change both,the compression spring is for 60-65 kg riders!!! So Suzuki putting a great motor in the bike saved the pennies by not putting first class gear around it!

  • @cabralad
    @cabralad2 жыл бұрын

    David, the only time I use the horn is when I accidentally touch the button and it's loud. A Suzuki salesman told me Japanese bikes are set up for small riders, I weigh 68kg so I have no reason to play with the suspension.
