Hey my dad had one like this back in the day. We watched the video together and hes saying that it sounds just like the one he had :) We have one question though, about the steering wheel. He says the one in this video is from a newer model, the /8 (Strich-Acht). Is it?

Sounds good. Just installed a 48 sidedraft on my car. Start it up and has a massive exhaust leak at the manifold. All I did was swap manifolds and carbs. Set up looks identical to yours except it's a side draft. Did you run into this issue at all?

Thanks, but the gearbox is well after its prime, when it was smooth and tight. Now (especially the down-) shifting is noisy and harsh because of the worn gear dogs. The ratios are sublime though. What do you want to know specifically? Give me your e-mail address and I will be glad to reply.

Did everyone notice the effortless torque when he was passing the van @2:22. He was only nudging the gas pedal with his big toe to open up the secondaries on the carburetor. He wasn't even close to having the gas pedal to the floored.

I think he was like 6k rpm, rotaries aren’t really known for low end torque because they have tiny displacement 😁 Awesome car though!

@@Rawnfella An Rx7 with a good, strong well maintained engine will get get off the line pretty good. in this video the driver barely rolled into the gas to pass that van.He just happened to have it in a way higher than he needed to.That is why the car was revving so high.

Hey my dad owned one like this back in the day. He says some models still had the steering wheel gear lever, but his had the regular floor gearbox, the way we know them today. I dont know wether this was an optional feature, or if they just switched the whole production over to the floor gearbox.

Very nice some great numbers there any on board footage of you driving it? Do you have standard pistons? I was wondering how you changed the CR was it done with the head work? Also re mapped the standard ECU guessing this was done with a chip?

This is perfect. Shame those who haven't physically driven one can't feel the vibration free engine dynamics when it's revving through the RPM. You really do realise that's why the engineers put the rev buzzer in. This is going into a special folder 👍

Damn, I think you have the fastest non-hill-climbing Swift GTi on youtube. Could you explain how to reduce the overall Swift weight to 630kg? What are the parts which you change to achieve that weight?

Now it is 660 kgs with an OMP roll cage. Weight reduction consisted cutting the inside of the front doors and trunk door, installing a glass fibre bonnet, glass fibre covers instead of headlights, deleting front turn signals and fog lights, 20 l plastic fuel cell (original tank gone), only rear aluminium strut brace, polycarbonate side- and rear windows, small aluminium dash panel, short exhaust system (ends where the fuel tank was), carbon fibre seat, etc. There are obviously no rear seats and upholstery.
