  Im convinced Mexicans are some of the most talented people on the planet. There food is world class and lets not forget world class musicians and boxers and artist. I was blown away by the country as a whole. This is not surprising many gringos want to live there. There economy is number #12 in the world surpassing many so called superpowers.   rent control is good?? It would be if you have been there for years, but it seems you havn't been there long. How much is your rent. In 2010 rent for a small room , no kitchen was $3,000 a month. Don't you have to pay 35% in taxes???? pluse sales tax on good and services?

  i’ve been in the same apartment for 3 years so rent control has really helped me out. renter rights definitely work in favor of tenants vs. landlords in sf. yes, cost of living here is high but ultimately, i would be getting taxed similarly in any city i want to live in. like with any place, there are pros and cons to living here but for me, it’s worth it (also my job is here lol)

  Out of all of the places you visited from this road trip excluding SF because I've already been there multiple times, which one was your absolute favorite?
