The amount of force I've smashed springs and set clips in with the back of a milwaukee I can confirm this is the correct use for the drill. Mallet first, then fasteners 🤣

I bet they don't warranty the post or labor. As much tar as you can put on a pine post won't last 20 years

A couple things after watching this video. Great explanation but it appears the bottom louver doesn't close the entire way. I would want this to keep small animals out for a floor to ceiling install. But more importantly, the connector bracket install would be impossible if a 1x6 framing is used unless you don't center the louvers in the frame. The louvers wouldn't stick out past the frame when opened to get a screw in. I prefer to center the louvers on the 1x6 so they set back in from the frame when opened.

I can really appreciate you creating a barrier to stop mistakes even after you’ve done the math. Period. I believe most people don’t understand the math that it’s the overall total rise and total run. That’s a good tip.

The glass is tempered the fine point on the hammer is what broke it. High concentration of impact at a fine point will break tempered glass every time.

Those gaps will be a foot wide by the time the board dries out. These days, jam the boards tight together and you'll have a nice uniform ¼" gap in a few months once the boards loose 60% of their moisture.
