    That motor is such a dog that even with straight pipe it sounds like shit... I heard straight sixes that sounds more v12 than this jag. Actually it's pretty sad.

    Hey Julian, your car is the only Jaguar XJS that I have seen either pipes coming out the side in front of the rear wheels like mine! I have to be careful over railway tracks and speed bumps, only have 3.5 inches clearance!

    These cars sounds ridiculously well, better than 99% of any modern sport car IMO. Could be in the same league as the F355 sound wise.

    Good morning and Merry Christmas, sorry to bother you.. whenever you have a chance to answer....we got screwed by VA Spiteri , a jag shop in Australia that makes custom headers.. now we need to find other headers.. we were thinking of simply performance, but concern of the fit and finish... We also have a left hand drive Jag -XJS.. did it clear the steering system? I know you have straight pipes, but are these headers too loud? Did you notice any performance improvements? Sorry for all the questions, have a great year..... I can also call you......as you know our 86 xjs is now a full restomod.. Thanks,... Pete

  • @JulianGriggs
    @JulianGriggs6 ай бұрын

    Sorry to hear about your headers! I’ve had no problems with the Simply Performance headers. Fitment and quality is really good. Ben over at Simply Performance made it clear that The headers are made for right hand drive cars but I took the risk and it turns out the headers fit really well on the left hand drive cars! I’d recommend giving him a call with any other questions you may have, he’s a good resource for any and all questions about Jags. I would keep the same diameter pipe from the collector all the way back. Any bigger your exhaust will sound like a truck… as you probably heard in the video in the lower revs. Make sure you have enough hangers to support the exhaust so it doesn’t fall off. Personally, I don’t mind the straight pipes. It is loud, maybe try adding a resonator to “smooth” out the sound. The main reason why I installed the headers was because my cats were clogged… so the before and after was a big difference haha, I’d say the headers are worth it considering what’s available currently and price point. Unfortunately, Not a whole lot of aftermarket V12 Jag stuff out there… Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

    @@JulianGriggs Good morning Julian. Thank you for the quick response. Yes you are right, Ben is very friendly and helpful. We bought the 40mm drop springs for the fronts and some parts.. At the time we already ordered the VA Spiteri headers. It's funny we were about to buy the Simply, but the others were tuned and ceramic coated. I'm also surprised you are allowed on the road with that exhaust set-up. Here in our town which is close to toronto, we have a max decibel limit, we would be fined and towed.. You didn't mention if you noticed any performance improvements. I know you didn't do any dyno pulls before and after, but was there any feeling of better breathing or torque? Again, sorry to bother you on your christmas and new year holidays. Take care. Pete

    Sounds like an old school big six you will need to spend some serious money and build a custom set of headers if you EVER want to make it sound like a v12
