    Some people complaining about not being able to see the differences between tilting the camera and using the lens. If you don’t understand what tilting the camera does to your picture, you have no business trying to buy this lens. It isn’t for you.

    Hey Brad, is there a concern about the apoxy yellowing over time? I did my first poor and it looked pretty good. But somebody told me I should put a polyurathane over to protect it from yellowing. Have you heard of this?

    Isn't that one of the differences between Architectural & Interior Photography, one focuses on the space and one focuses on the design?

  • @Bradscottvisuals
    @Bradscottvisuals2 ай бұрын

    Architectural photography is about capturing the architectural details of the structure itself and interior design is capturing the textures, design, art and furniture in the space.

    If you like tilt shift, you should get a Olympus omd camera, my em5ii have in camera tilt shift function, so I can choose any Lens and still can apply tilt shift compensation, without the need to buy expensive/heavy/limited choice of tilt shift lens😂

  • @johnkakuk
    @johnkakuk2 ай бұрын

    It sounds like if you do that then the perspective changes and your lines get out of square. It looks thinner at the top and wider at the bottom. And the tilt shift lens lets you nail your composition without that distortion

  • @iau
    @iau2 ай бұрын

    @@johnkakuk That's correct. The whole point is that pointing your camera up changes perspective and does not keep vertical lines vertical and parallel.

    i have a 12mm laowa zero D... so my line are straight when i shoot with it... how a tilt shift would help me ? (legit question) if i tilt up there is still zero distortion with this lens, but it can look wierd perspectives the tilt shift would help in that case ?

    Sorry for the noob question, but can't you achieve the same image by shooting wider and cropping the bottom part of the image out?

  • @djaa7
    @djaa72 ай бұрын

    His explanation was absurd. The lens is used to bend the image, removing the vertical or horizontal bend the lens adds. It has nothing to do with framing. It was a terrible example. No matter how you frame a regular lens, there will be distortion of straight lines. There was absolutely no reason to point the lens at the floor and claim the shift or tilt is used for framing. So no, a regular lens will still do this no matter the framing or height of the camera. And a wide lens makes the distortion worse. Think fisheye lens. Tilt shifts are also used for artistic purposes. Not just for corrections of straight lines. For example, it can be used to make far away towns look miniature. Especially if shot top down. Im video, we use them to shoot mirror scenes. So we can shoot over a shoulder of an actor, but the camera will not show up in the reflection. Rent one and try it out. Those are the 3 purposes of this lens. Maybe you can find an artistic 4th reason.
