These a wonderful informative vlogs from Jerry and anyone looking to get published like me. Thankyou Jerry i thought about self publishing but going with a publisher is the wise thing to do.I understand as an aspiring writer looking to get published in the future Its interesting to see how competitive the industry truly is and no one will ever know. Everyone should subscribe to Jerry if you haven't I highly recommend you do. You should see his wheel of information regarding one of his books, in one of his other informative vlogs. He is one of the most informative creative writers on You tube. He is so down to earth with the soft lilt of his voice. I also recommend when your writing to listen to binural beats and theta waves. in the backgroundThere is something for everybody. If on those days your feeling stressed when writing you can have binural beats theta waves playing in the background and hopefully you will feel better. As i get tinnatus i listen to it often now i dont get ringing in my ears everyday like i used to, it truly does work or if your concerned about hearing loss.Looking forward to Jerry latest vlog.

Wow, thanks for this Jerry. Ive written for a long time, and I seem to have always been good at it naturally, even though I was a terrible student. (a substitute teacher who didn't know me, but only knew what she saw in the "grade ledger"accused me of plagiarism when she had inspired me to want to do better). After whining about reaching a certain age and not having anything to show for it, I can now look back and see all these short stories that have happened. It's a neat realization. I'm writing my first as we speak! I've subscribed & checking out more videos. If I could put my $0.02 in for short stories - Jean Stafford is mind blowing (to me).

I have had the hardest time creating a routine/ Between my full-time job (where my schedule is never the same each day), a wife and 7-year-old that requires all my attention, I find it almost impossible to get much writing done. I'm typically a night person, but lately I find myself so exhausted that I can barely keep my eyes open once we finally get my daughter (also a night person) to sleep around 9 pm. I desperate to create a routine, but mornings are busy getting my daughter ready and preparing for work. I could really use some advice. (I fell like time is running out).

Sounds like great advice. The step that I like and feel fascinated the most is the Show, Don't Tell Technique. It's cool that you could describe what's happening instead of just telling it clearly because it makes the reader guessing what's really going on in the story or situation without even stating it.

Thank you for this excellent helpful talk Jerry. You said Superman's weakness is Kriptonite, I think yes, but also Lois Lane. Also had me thinking about heaven, and wondering if there will be 'movies' of stories of great triumphs over evil from history, stories of conversions… and "He has done great things" we will say together as each story closes.

Jerry, I really like your instructional videos. They have helped so much. Last year, I lost my job due to my disability, hip erosion. With my mobility limited, making drastic changes to my lifestyle, I chose to go forwards with a more positive outlook. Instead of laying around in bed feeling sorry for myself, I decided to write a novel. Surprised! A person doesn't justright a novel there's rules or a certain way to write a novel. Starting with show don't tell and all that goes along with it. Pam, I noticed you're still limping. How long has it been since the accident? Pam was silent. Please. Can we please not talk about it. Gosh! I love the suspense and mystery! Thank You! Jerry! *Determined, the three vehicle convoy pressed on through the night making it up the east coast at record breaking speed. Sam's SUV and Shelly's monster truck raced up the coast from Miami Florida to Philadelphia Pennsylvania. Leading the way, Jerry's blazing fiery red mustang's motor rang winding out the gears full throttle. Soon, all pulled in the drive of their anticipated destination with urgency as the sun peaked on the horizon. Quick, inattentive to the hour, Jerry slamed the door to his time travel machine. How long? Eighteen hours and twenty minutes Shelly confirmed. Let's go! Jerry charged. We've got a mystery to solve! Thank You Jerry, for a beautiful gift, of painting with words. Robert. 👍💥

Just bought Riven on Amazon. Can't wait to have a Jerry Jenkins book in my collection. He is my FAVORITE person to get writing advice from. Because of him my novel has almost 0 dialogue tags and it's so much better because of it. Please make more videos- we ❤️ Jerry!

Thank you for clarifying this. Ghostwriting is and always has been an exciting and highly rewarding line of work. Just need to connect with the right company. Writers Of The West has been an excellent mentor to me when i decided to enter the world of ghostwriting. They also were able to slash more than half of their price to do my book as an employee working there.

I've always been told that being pantser is not the way to write. YOU MUST outline your story. Problem is I don't know where it's going to end. I don't know how it's going to end and if I try to just figure it out it comes off as very lame. However if I get an idea I just write it and it is as you say revealed as the story goes along. So what a refreshing thing to see someone else to well does it my way. I don't have to hide in the closet anymore :)

This was so valuable to me. I also love that you didn't just tell us the points but went a step further by showing examples for each. I find that sometimes this is not done completely and so clearly communicating the idea through the writing examples provided. Thank you for taking your time out of your schedule to this :)
