  Is it bad that I am confused why the OP made different towns in different biomes... but didn't get a pylon system to link them together? If it's an issue with not knowing which NPC likes which biome, the bestiary shows which biome they prefer as their "spawn location". General common sense or a keen eye could help with knowing which NPCs like each other, like the demolitionist is a kind of dwarf, dwarves like drinking ale, put the tavernkeep near them. Also, town pets count as NPCs for the pylon to work, so you can put a mechanic alone in the snow biome with a slime and the pylon will function.

  Wow! I also decided to go through this and I can say with confidence that Fossil enchantment is the most useful accessory in this walkthrough For now I’m just training and now I’m getting through it on a regular character with a minimum of deaths. so far 6 deaths and I'm on post-skeletron.

  I used to use fossil enchantment, but stopped because for some reason I'm incapable of living long enough to get all the fossils I need to get the enchantment. GL on your future attempts!
