I use Gorilla glue and Loctite glue! Both hold better than traditional nail glue and I have had no problems in 6 years of use. They are all super glues, which were developed for use on battlefields to quickly close wounds. Nail glues and super glues are both cyanoacrylates of one composition or another. Nail glues have additives that make the cyanoacrylate weaker, sometimes it is just a "filler" liquid. Unless you have an allergy, it will not hurt your nails or skin.

For anyone in doubt Blow drying is not bad. The hair needs to be stretched whether natural or relaxd to promote natural sebum to reach the length of hair. Blacks have always stretched their hair for centuries whether using yarn, string, elastic, tension, or heat. Leaving hair always curly promotes single strand knots, dryness, and tangles. I say this because as a child my hair was always blow dried after a wash and it never damaged and flourished. It kept the hair manageable and promoted growth. Think of why braiders want your hair blown out. My hair is top back length now but perm has damaged it. when i was natural i stopped using heat which was a no no & caused me to perm. Stretch if you have 4 type hair. 3 type may not need to. By the way i dont have curls or coils. I have zig zag kinks that make my hair a big lion king puff. Never had ringlets. Thinkin about transition back to natural but gosh dealing with daughter 2 day wash day is enough

This is the first 📽️ I have watched on this subject and yes I definitely sometimes think 🤔 I'm just going to put the perm back in. Since the whole relaxer scandal I haven't permed my hair. Yay. This was a great first video. Thank you for the products advice and more.

So this is going to sound weird right. I actually relaxed my natural hair because it was in bad shape. To my knowledge I did everything right. I did the deep conditioning, the trims, hot oil treatments 2 times a month, the protective styles etc. You name it I did it. Low and behold, all that made my natural hair worse. I was losing handfuls after handfuls of hair. My scalp was really sore, dry and tight no matter how often I deep conditioned or oiled my scalp. It wasn't until I decided to relax my hair that I started to see some positive growth. My hair no longer sheds, my scalp is no longer dry and itchy and I have tons of new growth even without protective styling. My plan is to transition back to natural. I hope I continue to see healthy hair growth in the next six months. Sporting braids now as a protective style. I can't wait to see how much my hair will grow in the next few months.

Respectfully, I disagree about detangling your hair wet. There is evidence that doing that leads to more breakage in the long term. Dry, finger detangling with an oil prepoo is better because hair is stronger when dry than when wet. The oil prepoo also protects the hair from hygral fatigue when you wash your hair. And using your fingers is less damaging than combs. Here's a great video that talks about this a bit. Don't be turned off by the fact that it's done by a white woman; her facts are on point: kzread.info/dash/bejne/nWFmu9qqd8yvZZc.html

I really think the results and length depends on your foundation. I had a jheri curl in elementary school my half sister only needed to wet her hair and she had the same style. Her hair grows from short to bra length in back in 6 months but it would take my hair 3xs as long to do the same. Ethnicity also plays a role in this. Your hair is gorgeous yes but your tips and results may not be universal for those who have other curl types.

I use the gorilla glue too (but I use the regular one not the waterproof one, too scared lol). Also I put a clear nail hardener (sally henson brand) on my natural nail; let it dry for a few minutes, then I brush the gorilla glue on and stick the press-on. This way there is a barrier between the my nailbed and the gorilla glue. Hope this helps🤗

Do not listen to this person’s dangerous advice! You can develop terrible contact dermatitis from using products not intended for nails plus, your press-one may not move but if you catch the nail, it will rip from the nail bed. Nail glue has a release point on its adhesion to prevent such an injury.

don’t know if you’ll see this since the video is old but if i want braids as my protective style how would i go about that since technically we shouldn’t be blow drying.. or would blow drying be fine since braids will be in at least 6 weeks or longer giving it a break from heat in between

I’m torn .. I’ve had relaxed hair all of my life and I want to go natural but I don’t want to cut off my relaxed hair to go natural and then end up wanting a relaxer again 🤦🏾‍♀️ … I’m tired of the breakage and shedding and ughhh everything relaxed hair goes thru . I think I’m going to just transition to see if natural is what I want. I’m not so much worried about my curls . I’m worried about the health of my hair
