@XSTrainingLtd Жыл бұрын
Hi Jason, thank you for your comment. Most centres don’t have spanners available. These videos support learners going into a certain environment. Spanners would be best practice but grips are commonly used, and if used correctly won’t leave burrs. Banjos are discussed when glanding.

Regarding fuse size for switch fuse spur- My specification didn't specify BUT it does say to the BS7671 Wirings Regulations, so if you read Reg 553.1.5 (i) it states "the connection of an eletric clock, provided that the plug and socket-outlet are designed specifically for that purpose, and that each plug incorporates a fuse of rating not exceeding 3 amperes complying with BS 646 or BS 1362 as appropriate." Obviously the programmer has an eletric clock so I took it that you need to use a 3AMP fuse. I found this after the exam but put a 3AMP fuse in cos I honestly couldn't sleep as I was pretty pissed off lol.

Hi. Unlike the link of Line to terminal 2 in the timer there is no need to do this for terminal 4. The live feed to 4 comes from elsewhere in the system (the room stat). The drawing in the video shows this but I do appreciate that you'll have to 'pause' it to see it properly.
Hi. I'm about to start my L2 2365 leading to L3 domestic installer. Just not sure about 2357 portfolio as how long does it take and number and type of jobs that I have to undertake in order to gain nvq L3.
Hi there, The 2357 portfolio requires you to cover 4 cables and 5 containments. You get 3 years to complete the portfolio. Singles Twin and CPC FP SWA Steel Conduit and Trunking PVC Conduit and Trunking Tray The cables and containments above can be done over as many jobs you require to gain the relevant evidence. Hope that helps but if you need any more details then please feel free to get in touch with us directly through our website, email or phone call. All the best.
Hello on the channel timer do you have to put a line link from L to 2
Hi, it all depends on the centre you do the AM2 at. This link could already be in or you may need to add it yourself. It does however need to be there.
EN61243-3:2010 and onwards two-pole voltage indicators cannot use fuses for protection as it introduces a risk of false clear indication; proving should alleviate this but the standard went that way anyway.
better instruction than my college i was wrapping them wrong the other way so tightening the nut was pushing strands out.
Thanks for your positive feedback on our training video, really pleased that it helped you.
Does anyone know how you would do an insulation resistance test on this? I failed this on my AM2
Hi Dave, you need to test IR from the board and then again from the load side to ensure you test the supply and load side. Test between L1 - L2, L1 - L3, L2 - L3, L1 - N, L2 - N, L3 - N, L1 - CPC, L2 - CPC, L3 - CPC and N - CPC from both ends.
did you test both sides of the DOL ? use the plugs on the simulated motor box to test IR to the DOL, same when you do r1+r2. hope this helps
I'm scared that I wont be able to do it n will lose my money, but I'm gonna try it 👊😎
Hi, first of all apologies for not picking up on this and responding sooner. We can appreciate your apprenhension because MANY other people feel exactly the same before they get started. You can see this if you check out our previous reviews on Google and Trustpilot. These will also show you how much easier it is than they first thought when they eventually get started. We always have someone who can call you back and talk you through whats involved but the first step is to complete our Online Application Form to tell us a bit about your previous experience (if any). There is absolutely no obligation to begin one of our courses after completing it but it is the best first step. www.xstraining.com/online-application-form/ Hopefully hear from you soon. 🙂
I am exactly one of those and am still thinking@@XSTrainingLtd
Do you identify your control switched circuits ?
Hi, this is not a requirement
Are all the terminals between the isolator and the top of the contactor already done? And is the sy cable already pre made up of is that something you have to run yourself.
Hi Nathan, thank you for your comment. The control cables are prewired within the DOL, yes. The only part you will need to do, is the supply to the Isolator using singles and then install and gland off the SY cable. Please watch the video in relation to the control cables though, as you will need to know these connections when you come to the fault finding.
Horrible use of a knife. pipe grips? not spanners? those will leave burs all over the glands. no talk of a banjo. KZread sparks *sigh*
Hi Jason, thank you for your comment. Most centres don’t have spanners available. These videos support learners going into a certain environment. Spanners would be best practice but grips are commonly used, and if used correctly won’t leave burrs. Banjos are discussed when glanding.
It's tough to show the way we would use a knife on site and ensure the view on camera is sufficient . The video is not teaching someone how to use a knife, as I would like to think they are at this stage before booking an AM2 exam.
Thank you for your comment.
@@XSTrainingLtd thank you for your videos, fully qualified thanks to you 😊
@@adventuresofanathan Thank you for our comment. Congratulations on now being a fully qualified electrician and we wish you all the best for the future.
Yeah I put a 13 amp in and failed that section. Use a 3 amp guys!
Do you have to sleeve the L2and L3 with brown at all? Also the grey sleeve with blue?
Hi Chris, thank you for your comment. L1, L2 and L3 need identifying as Brown, Black and Grey. Black and Grey sleeving will be used if your centre has it available. Some centres don’t and this is why the video shows an alternative way.
Hi, is this something the assessor completes or is it the learners
Hi there, thank you for your comment. All our portfolios are assessor built now. Please email us at [email protected] if you would like to get started with your portfolio.
Excellent teaching.
Thank you, we try our best to include everything to ensure your AM2 experience is less stressful.
This is very informative and easy to understand. More videos will be appreciated. Thanks
Hi Naseer, thank you. We try our best in making the videos are useful as possible, hopefully making you a little more confident when it comes to your AM2.
The cable coming out of the remote switch is left out for your assessment.....am I right in saying it needs to be terminated into terminal 96
Thank you for your comment. This is correct Alan.
It’s great to see Latin people as me, becoming qualified electrician in UK. This week I’m booking my NVQ with xstraining. Well done Andres!
The clearest explanation I have seen for this. Many thanks 👍
