    wrong, please tell me how you can prove isolation when you have not proved its live in the first place this is a fundamental error all safe isolation procedures have, test its live first

  • @XSTrainingLtd
    @XSTrainingLtd Жыл бұрын

    This could only be actioned if the installation was live in the first place. The method shown in the video is for all installations which proves dead by showing zero volts on an AVI, and then proceeding to prove the AVI is working on a proving unit. This confirms that when testing dead in the first place, these results were accurate. I will add to the video the need of checking live first where possible. I like you’re thinking and really appreciate your comments, as if you checked dead on something that was already switched off, this could be assumed to be fed from a certain point, but could become energised from another source at a later date within the job.

    Regarding fuse size for switch fuse spur- My specification didn't specify BUT it does say to the BS7671 Wirings Regulations, so if you read Reg 553.1.5 (i) it states "the connection of an eletric clock, provided that the plug and socket-outlet are designed specifically for that purpose, and that each plug incorporates a fuse of rating not exceeding 3 amperes complying with BS 646 or BS 1362 as appropriate." Obviously the programmer has an eletric clock so I took it that you need to use a 3AMP fuse. I found this after the exam but put a 3AMP fuse in cos I honestly couldn't sleep as I was pretty pissed off lol.
