follow instructions on what it says and everything will go smooth, only use a 12V car battery and nothing else.

Every video that show this spot welder got fried because the user failed to provide proper and sufficient power source. People have to realize this kit is low cost thus no dummy proving so the back said 12v car battery don't try to substitute it with a 11v or a moped battery.

What battery did you connect it to?

I have used an automotive jump start battery. It is about 20 A-H and it is old. I have replaced one blown MOSFET and the short is gone. Will test it again after some modifications are made. This time I will use a big 12V battery from my car. The battery needs to be strong for this spot welder. Weak battery may be the main reason for spot welder failures. It has no protection against it.

@@mikhailshneyder9131 the battery needs to be 100ah minimum & ideally lithium, the problem being voltage drop causes the MCU to lose power hence the mosfets stick open & fry. Also try to add a 16v 680uf capacitor in the circuit before the MCU & reinforce the traces either side of the mosfets with copper wire. There’s videos on KZread to show you where.

@@MistaTerps That is what I am planning to do. Will use higher voltage rating for the capacitor - just in case.

Hi. I have this welder too. And I still have the same problem and I think we are not the only ones.
