Driving With Todd

Driving With Todd

This is Driving With Todd and I'm Todd. I love music. It is sort of my life.
On my channel you will hear many different genres of music. I react to groups and songs I have never heard before, usually suggested by my viewers. I also react and/or review groups and songs that I love from my past. When I cover a song from my past, I try to relate it to what was happening in my life at the time. This is sort of like story time with Todd.
I normally do not talk over the soundtrack of the video I am reacting to, but instead stop the video to talk about what I have heard to that point. The reason I rather stop the video then talk over it is I want to hear every note played and sung by the band. I can also give my thoughts with some detail during these stop breaks.
I hope you give my channel a try. If you like what you hear and see, please LIKE and SUBSCRIBE. Thank you!
Peace out baby!

Their live album is the definition of 'Heavy Rock.' It almost sounds scary at times with their unique vocal.

As an Australian Vietnam Vet, it really pisses me off to see the majority of images in the clip are of Americans. Either too lazy or ignorance shown by the person who put the clip together. The title is actually A Walk in Light Green and refers to the colour that forested areas are shown on tactical maps. I really liked your comments Todd, it's no fault of yours about the clip. Thank you.

Mushroomhead came out with 2 new songs. One is called “Fall in Line” and the other is called “Prepackaged”. Then the band As I Lay Dying has also 2 new songs. The first one is “Burden” and the other one is “The Cave We Fear to Enter.” Plus check out some of these songs out by Imminence. Some songs like “Continuum”, “Chasing Shadows”, “Alleviate”, “Heaven Shall Burn”, “The Sickness”, “Paralyzed”, “Heaven in Hiding”, and “Ghost”…… These bands are amazing. I’m sure you did some of these bands or maybe even all of them. Any of them that you didn’t do. Could you please check the ones you haven’t done yet. I apologize. Could you please check the ones you haven’t done yet. Thanks ❤️🤘🏼❤️! Derrick

Love how you think it a live version but look at he bass and the keyboard an and the guitar there is no cables coming out of it to the amp. I know that she is lip syncing to this version of a pre-recorded studio track. You should really learn to look at to sign of live performances.

Love this song. Love the original too! 70s reggae rock and punk was/is the best!!! The Clash gets a lot of respect for doing reggae. They put a lot of people on! Most only know Bob Marely and MAYBE Dennis Brown and Peter Tosh when it comes to 70s reggae. Theres hardly any reaction videos to this song. Like 2? Everyone wants mainstream yet 70s reggae and dub was HUGE in the U.K. in the 70s and is still massive in the reggae club's dancehall scene today. Thanks for posting this!!! The Clash bridged the gap when it was a time where racial tensions were high. Love them and ALL their music.

You asked about the instruments. If Dan doesn't list other musicians on the video, then he did all the instrumentation himself. He plays guitar, keyboard, and, of course, harmonica. He does the drums digitally.

Hi Todd, Would you be able to check out: Cold Chisel - Choir Girl nzoz1979 ? The song is about a teenage abortion from the perspective of a carer. ''Looking like a choir girl'' is a metaphor for being in a hospital gown.

Yep! She's growing up and a truly beautiful young lady! The younger brothers are also growing up fast! And i really appreciate the diversity in this band, lots of bands sound good but when you hear bands that can't seem to diversify , then all their music sounds fairly redundant, not with LILIAC their originals are continually different, now if i could just get them to remake LIE TO ME by JOHNNY LANG my world would be almost complete HAHA!!!! Thanks for this reaction! Keep the liliac coming 👍

Liliac can't be pigeon holed into one genre or style. They had some really creative songs on Madness that never really recieved much play time. Hologram Hypothermia and Hey There Child are different than anything they have done. The music arrangement in Hologram is exceptional. Sadly the songs that don't get a video get minimal attention. I really like the seamless transitions in this. It hits you hard where it needs to. Then let's you catch your breath. Great reaction, And you are right Melody is not just a young lady anymore. Now she is an extremely serious talent, as well as the rest of the band.

Agree 100%. Way too short. After the scream it was a perfect chance to throw in another guitar or piano bar like keys solo and another verse. Paul brings a lot to this Band in my opinion and hopefully is able to add on the vocals. Love the song.

Ey up Todd. Hope you and yours are well. - great choice, one of my favourite songs from one of my favourite bands. The DVD/CD Vinyl info' you gave out was interesting - cheers. Saw Tull many times from 1970 to mid 80s when they became (in my mind) a bit dated and less relevant but have never lost my love of their earlier stuff. I know what you mean about Mick A, 'This Was' has a very different feel to 'Stand Up', Benefit' etc. Keep on truckin' mate.

He keeps on putting out albums and it is good stuff! Tull came to our little burg in 2002 for Lakefest and were great! Rock n Roll my friend...

If you get time in the future I think you would enjoy doing Tommy Navarro I cried my life away another great song that sadly was overlooked in the states but amongst others that shaped a generation of kids in the U.K so thanks America.

This album was my introduction to Tull , and I was hooked- it was just before I went to college, and I spent a bit of my grant finding and getting their back catalogue (on Vinyl in those days) - I have bought this album many times now with all the re-releases (have one I keep in car).

You might like to check your sound level. The INXS version comes off a bit loud. I'm sticking with The Loved Ones. Might have to do with me growing up in Melbourne.

  • @drivingwithtodd1781

Hi @BarbaraTowning - My show is recorded as one take with absolutely no edits thus no changes in recording volume. I used a "merged video" that someone created and was suggested for use by the original requestor for reaction. My guess if there is a volume issue, it would be with that merged video. When doing my reaction, I did not notice a volume increase but as I stated in my video, everything was cleaner, more intense and mixed upfront (especially the bass guitar) for the INXS version over The Loved Ones. This is basically due to better recording technics in the 1980's versus the 1960's. I would check out the original video to learn if that has the volume increase. My guess it does. Take care and keep rockin' ...

Van Morrison vibes is what I have always gotten from the Loved Ones version. Oh this is not the KICK version, the KICK version is way rockier, this is more similar to the original. I love all 3 versions! Btw i agree, Gary's bass is so good and so underappreciated!
