I have 2013 lariat f150. Same problem sensor; door opened. Turns out connector was much further inside of the door beam Could not disconnect. Pushed rubber boot into the door beam frame. Removed cloth. Found one severed and 9 others with thin insulation torn and fraying wires in multiple places along wires in bend area. These wires are soey bean based insulation. Thin and harder insulation that cracks after work hardening over time. They really don't hold up well in a tight bend. Spliced back on both sides using similar gauge with thicker pvc insulated wire and redressed with self adhering rubber tape. Plastic stiffening rod was left in place. Splices were approximately 4" long wire, soldered and applied shrinktube at connections. Pulled boot out of frame and reconnected to both sides. I believe there was 3-18 awg and 9-22 awg wires. Took about 2-3 hrs doing one at a time. I have not seen one video showing right rear door problems. Just wondering if I'll need to do that one next? P.S! A rate bit through two wires during a cold spell. This is when I discovered the Sony bean insulation mice and rats love so much. That cost was to repair was over $450 at Ford service Department. Latter I installed a ultrasonic rat and mice repellent made for cars. Its been 5 years. Haven't had a recurring event or tracks under the hood in all three of our cars.

I used heat shrink butt spices on mine. but you can really use any splicing method really. I would just ensure you wrap in electrical tape or something to protect your wires from the elements even though they should be within you door jam.

Same thing.i just found mine cut. But how do you fix it if they are cut that short?
@namanak03114 жыл бұрын
For really short wires your best bet would be to crimp on non-insulated butt connectors and then heat shrink tubing over that. The non-insulated butt connectors will allow you to get as close to the connector as possible. Secondly, you could pop out the "pin lock" inside the connector, and then you will be able to pull out and re-crimp the wires with new pins. Another option would be to order a replacement harness/connector. (My replacement p/n: WPT485) then simply cut all wires and crimp on the new ones with heat shrink tubing.
