Yep! I’m making sure he has a happy and confident emotional state in a high-traffic area. Feeding him lunch there is an easy way to do that! When people approached us, I’d feed higher-value treats.

Why wouldn't you just teach the puppy to NOT mouth you? All you're doing is telling him this is acceptable behavior. You'll be sorry when he's fully grown and mouthing you.

Thanks for your comment! I allow puppies to bite up until around 3/4 months to give them feedback about the pressure of their biting. This puppy is 8 weeks. He won’t be biting me when he’s fully grown, and he will know to take treats, toys, and other things from humans very carefully and gently.

Sometimes! And, if he started to bite harder at this age (8 weeks), I would redirect him to a toy. For this type of very gentle mouthing though, I just sort of go limp to teach him it’s not very entertaining to bite me (there’s no fun reaction!). This limp response is often enough to deter any escalation.

Hi, I think this is probably a 30", not totally sure to be honest... This video is from 4 years ago! With crate though, I always suggest going to the larger size if you are trying to pick between two. If you have a puppy, you can get a wire crate with a divider, so you can make the crate smaller when you have a puppy, and larger for your adult dog. I hope this helps! Thanks for watching :)

If it’s done correctly, we see their motivation increase and the behaviors are well maintained. If you like to read science stuff, check our intermittent reinforcement schedules. Pretty cool stuff :)
