I live the poem but this is rather a dull recitation. I first heard it read by Tennessee himself. Williams said " orange branch". In the movie its was changed to " olive branch". For reasons still obscure. Try to find Williams reading it.

This is a poem that equates with the sermon on the mount where Jesus talks about flowers and how they, in their natural state, are as beautiful as any man made garment. And why do we have to impose rules as to love..and who should love who. And why can't there be a place that accepts all.

A great climax to a great movie. I bet the original Broadway play (with Bette Davis as Maxine) wasn't as good. Strange to think that 18 years later Ray Stark and John Huston would reteam to make "Annie."

Hello, gringos when they go to my country México and the sellers offer them what they sell, do not ask them to let cheaper ( in my country they say haggling) and it is not fair because they are what they live on and support their families. You gringos are always haggling and you don't buy anything, they think that with a dollar they will buy everything. You gringos are very stingy. Respect the sellers and don't haggle. That to ourselves we tell ourselves not to haggle and in several videos they highly recommend tourists no to haggle. Again I ask you not to haggle in my country. When we buy in another country we do not haggle like you do. Remember not to HAGGLE. Better haggle in you country when you go shopping, if they leave it to you for a dollar.

Poor SKIP WARD (the guy getting punched out). Always the co-star, never the star. Warner Bros. signed him as a B-version of TROY DONAHUE and that seemed to cement his supporting actor status. He was part of the hot teen scene in the early 60s and co-starred with ELVIS in "Easy Come Easy Go" (1966) and with ANN-MARGRET in "Kitten With A Whip" (1964). His big break was supposed to be the HOWARD HAWKS produced-and-directed auto racing drama "Red Line 7000" (1965). But Hawks was possibly senile by then and the end result was a disaster. SKIP got the last laugh though and became a Producer in the 80s and produced 100+ episodes of "The Dukes of Hazard". Ironically, a young version of himself would have been ideal casting for the JOHN SCHNEIDER part.
