    Hamish was an actual demon haha. That's that cycling fitness for you! Who else can lean that far back whilst rating high 30s and spank the world champion? 🤣

    It’s rowing fitness, not cycling fitness. He did obviously dabble in cycling briefly when Murray retired but his ‘bread and butter’ is rowing.

    @@jimjamthebananaman1 for the 2013-2016 period (so, incidentally, before Murray even retired), Bond spent more time on a bike each week than an erg. You don't just "dabble" in elite-Level cycling. Not to mention the man's power-to-weight ratio is one of the best ever seen. Everything about his physiology suggests he has been just as moulded by time in the saddle as in the boat.

    I suspect that any reply will be a waste of time, but here goes. When I went onboard the Steve Irwin I met a range of people of all nationalities and ages. They were all respectful and keen to enter into discussion and debate. They were also all volunteers who clearly have a commitment to what they believe in. Thousands of others went onto the boat, and will have made their own conclusions. If the crew are members of a cult as you state then they do an excellent job of hiding it. The reality is that the crew and their numerous supporters believe in what they are doing, and as a result volunteer their time and money. If I was to make any complaint, it was that, unlike your claim that they exist to make money, they seemed inefficient at getting money from the people of Dunedin. Visitors weren't even asked to donate - though there was a small bucket with a slot in the top that coins could be put into. One of the things that I have learnt from Facebook and KZread is that some of the contributors are happy to express their strong opinions, but unwilling to enter into discussion or debate. From the tone of your contribution I suspect that you are one of those. Best wishes, John Rothery (Tauranga - New Zealand/Aotearoa)

  • @johnrothery
    @johnrothery8 жыл бұрын

    +roguejez It is a hydro lake in NZ. 75% of our electricity is from hydro. The settlement of Mangakino was built for the workers working on the hydro facility. Each house has one free power point (no cost for power). You would be amazed at how many things can run from one electric socket. :-)

    Looks like you have to do a recalibration of the gyros! If you grab the quadcopter from the underside and spin up the motors and then by hand tilt the quadcopter down in the direction of the not spinning propellor, does it spin up? Consult the manual on how you calibrate with your transmitter or try Google.

  • @johnrothery

    +Tore Lund. Thank you for your comment. However the problem may be more basic. It is new out of the box and one motor does not work. I am discussing it with the supplier in China - Gear Best. (I tried your suggestion nevertheless - unfortunately to no avail)

    I think this should be taken down it is not true and correct. No one asked this person to leave the room. Christian Derrington [who is Pulse energy] and myself asked this person filming who he was and who he was filming for, because none of us knew.We never got an answer he got angry and said it was a public meeting ,but he would leave. He shouted from the back of the room took some photos and left, making everyone feel uncomfortable. Grey Power had the right to ask who he was,but we never got that information til now!

    Hamish Bond has to be the greatest oarsmen of all time. Now he is proving beyond any doubt he is just as excellent in single sculling. What you have just witnessed in my humble opinion is Jesus Christ in a single scull and he wasn't walking on water he was running. Hamish Bond just delivered in my humble opinion a miraculous performance that will go down in New Zealand Rowing history if not World Rowing history. Yes it was just that great folks. A miracle. And if you know rowing physics, physiology, and biomechanics you will clearly understand just how high a standard Hamish Bond's EFFORT was in this phenomenal performance. Forget Sir Steve Redgrave being the greatest oarsman of all time people. Hamish Bond just delivered a performance that in my humble opinion is the greatest rowing race/performance of all time. Because Bond isn't the orthodox optimum 'model' of a heavyweight oarsman/rower/sculler. If he was he would be 6ft 6in in height and weigh 100kg! Because although physiology would tell us that the rower with the biggest muscles produces the most amount of power and strength, Bond completely DEFIES physics, physiological, and biomechanical principles, laws, and logic when it comes to the optimum 'model' oarsman/rower/sculler and the sport of rowing/sculling. Effectively he is a 'lightweight' heavyweight. Plus he is probably the shortest heavyweight oarsman competing in rowing at present. He could even be considered the shortest heavyweight in the history of the sport. And that is what is making Bond the James Bond of rowing. Hamish Bond easily surpasses the feats of a doped Lance Armstrong in sport. Armstrong delivered phenomenal performances in professional road cycling. Bond is delivering BETTER performances in rowing naturally unassisted by ergogenic performance aids probably other than a cup of tea or coffee! HOW GOOD IS THAT for goodness sake?! Forget all the cheats in professional road cycling and athletics doped up on all sorts of goodies, enter the sport of rowing and a 100% completely clean oarsman/rower/sculler; Hamish Bond who is delivering sporting performances in my humble opinion that are phenomenal. New Zealand Rowing should be honouring Bond with a RNZ KNIGHTHOOD. Forget the Halberg Awards, Bond deserves to be Knighted and the sooner the better.
