    It seems like there are ants in my fig tree. Initially, I thought that the plants and fruits were drying up due to the intense heat, but a few days ago, I noticed that ants are coming out of the soil.

    I just threw seeds in my hell strip and waited for the rain. Then a few weeks later the lupines shot out of the ground. Then i discovered they were toxic to people and animals 💀

    Mulch, mulch and more mulch. Compost or manure is ideal.

    My suggestion Is to add organic matter in whichever form, for faster results (as in ammending soil) i would suggest integrating some mature compost or manure (even both Is good) but if you are just looking for an immediate way to avoid the soil from drying then i would suggest you to use mulch, and in this case you also have many options, you can use straw, leaves, bark, woodchips and many more, hope this helps

    Only real fix to clay is to cover it with organic material and then over time work the organic material in.
