i am watching this in 8/2024,,prices of materials have tripled,,,just cost me 80 bucks just to replumb a kitchen sink ,,,,two,3ft replacement lines from the shutoff to the sink and a p trap kit sink to drain.
Is your truck a hybrid? Doesn’t appear so but can’t quite tell. I have a hybrid limited so wondering if that would impact the battery step for trying to insure no airbag codes are tripped. Just got a TRD pro wheel for a phenomenal price so planning this same switch soon.
What is the lifetime of a shipping container ?
Maybe it's best to not use Wood and Go New and all steel
TLDR: Labor costs have significantly increased, with businesses now having to pay higher wages for basic tasks and skilled trades, leading to higher overall costs for businesses. 00:00 👷 Labor costs in 2022 have increased proportionally to material costs, so doubling the 2019 labor cost estimate is still a good ballpark. 01:20 💰 Labor costs are increasing as businesses struggle to find workers, resulting in higher wages for even basic tasks. 01:50 💰 Labor costs have significantly increased due to higher wages, workman's comp, and general liability audits, ultimately raising the cost for the end user. 02:23 💰 Double the average cost of materials in today's market to estimate labor costs for super crafty shoppers. 02:52 💰 Labor costs can make up a significant portion of your bill, so be prepared to pay your workers well. 03:14 📉 Labor costs can be reduced by having children work for free, but this raises ethical and legal concerns.
Smart design. Love the backslash window
Imagine this on a piece of land with a hand pump water supply, solar panels and a nice garden

One of the main reasons I would build this style of workshop/living quarter combo, is for the saferoom provided for the living quarters. One large heated slab, container on each end, spanned by trusses and wood frame construction enclosure front and back.
How much is the transportation fee?
I love what you guys are doing. I live in Lake Wales Florida and living tiny it my dream
How did your house do during a hurricane?
I guess it don’t have a room Whole video we looking at bathroom and kitchen
Super High Cubes 10'6" do exist but they are extremely rare. My friend has 3 that came from Fort Lewis.
The only thing i dont like is the toilet near the kitchen.
Is this in USD?
What about the kitchen appliances

If you are going to build a wall inside and build a wall outside and side it and drywall it why the HELL don't you just build a building the old fashioned way? Its cheaper and better
How can I go about ordering one of these?
Not good.
Please make more videos.
Where are you putting the water heater?
Wow. Just WOW!!!
Mattgeorge I don’t think I can blakemaggetok .😅😅😅
I want to do a bunkie like this with sliding glass doors in the front. Completely discrete from the outside when it's all locked up. Love the scaffold bunk bed idea!
And how much is this , must be 200k at least ?😂
Great video. Glad you stood up to the local politicians who don't like 'eyesores' in their area, when their constituents have no place to live.
Blakemaggettsmilematthewgeorgecool😂
Think the PL3x would be good enough to hold without the screw? I am trying to avoid any holes in the container
For me, I definitely want regular door hate glass doors especially sliding doors, if only I can find a design that doesn't involve glass doors or huge glass windows
So, take a shipping container. Frame and build a house on the inside. Frame and build a house on the outside. Almost pointless having the container .
This was 4 years ago. Just looked at their website. The stuff costs now more than the container, if you have a 40'. At least 5,000.
And why is he screaming? 😂 these containers can cost 2-8k, put another 5-8k in and you got something way better!
Too much! 😂
The government gave 700 to the people of Hawaii and billions to Ukraine. 😢
How are you addressing 2021 building code for zone 5 R values with no thermal transfer?
Price?
Our 20ft containers start at $35,000. You can check out our online store at www.containingluxury.com/category/all-products
Great job
Thank you!
Where would you put the closet?
There is a good amount of storage shelving in the bathroom area, or you could have a standalone wardrobe.
Thank you for reply @@ContainingLuxury , a standalone wardrobe indeed sounds like the proper route, at the corner between the bedroom and bathroom. Now that I've seen the video a third time, there seems to be ample space for cabinetry in that corner. In fact, I appreciate how spacious/workable it is, in retrospect. Am I to understand this unit comes to about $80,000 [before costs of shipping/installing, and without the stainless appliances]?
65,000 to 70,000 for a 40 foot container home at 300 ft.²? This is the point where you would have to decide if it would be feasible for you to put that money towards an average house that may be three times the size of that container home
Our units are definitely a niche, but there are advantages as compared to a traditional home! Mobility is by far the biggest upside, we have sold units for emergency and workforce housing that need to be relocated periodically.
Great job with the layout!!❤
Thanks so much! 😊
Perfect 👍🏻
Glad you think so!
So did they started ?? Can you go see them?
We have been working for a long time trying to get this project going, local government has been the biggest hurdle so far so we need community support!
IF NO PRICE IS MENTIONED THEN BE AFRAID BE VERY AFRAID 😮
We are very transparent about our pricing, you can actually shop our current inventory online! www.containingluxury.com/category/all-products
I would say mold growing behind the foam panels. I have a 20ft container converted to a work shop and mold is something I have to battle once a year or so.
Mold is always a potential issue within any structure, we recommend keeping an eye on humidity levels and our mini split AC units actually have a "dry" setting to help mitigate this risk. Great point!
