Thanks Kate, really interesting. What type of care do you give that peperomia? Every plant I have bought off you have been absolutely gorgeous & super healthy 👍👍👍
Aw Thank you Heather :) Peperomia like bright indirect light and they prefer bottom watering, they don't really like water on the foliage in my experience.
Great video Kate. The dark Philo is stunning. I have the Imperial Green and it's growing like a weed. The other plant I had my eye on for a while is the Callisia ( hope that's correct). The pink & green is so delicatelooking. Thanks for showing us your new stock, pity I don't live in NZ.
I'm in love with the new Phil, so pretty! :)
Lovely new plants -hang in there Kate, hopefully when spring hits (4 weeks to go!!!) we will all feel like greening our spaces. Have any of the nurseries started growing lemon lime maranta?
I am so so ready for spring!! I am not too sure yet, not that I have seen. They're stunning plants so hopefully one day!
You're the first planty youtuber from NZ I've come across! 😃Excited to watch all your older videos and see more of your stunning collection 🤩
@eunoiaplanter We are a rare breed I think! Which is kind of why I started my channel, I wanted relevant NZ information :)
Hi Kate. I love the silver begonia, it's so nice and shiny. It's a pity they mostly need a pole to be staked up to otherwise I'd be grabbing one if I could find it here in Australia. I just don't have the space for a tall plant. I'm glad you mentioned growing your cuttings in Pon, I have a lovely begonia outside in a hanging pot and struggle to keep the watering consistent, the Pon will definitely do the trick. Thanks for sharing your stunning begonias with us, they are all doing so well.
Oh yes, they are pretty aye but they can get quite tall! You could probably grow outdoors in a sheltered spot. I am looking forward to seeing how the Begonia in pon goes, so far so good!
Beautiful Begonias ~ keep us updated -especially the semi hydro Great to see you 👋
@@Loogiemistress I will do!
What medium its it?
Tree fern fibre
I was wondering about pon for my begonias too. I have used your long metal green stakes with the hoop at the top for my cane begonias too & they are great 👍
@heatherstephens9295 Oh yes, they're perfect for that! It's been interesting growing it in pon so far, interested to see how it goes as it gets bigger.
@@wildvine.plants look forward to an update from you 😊
Screw a piece of wood to the outside of the pot for support for your pole thats inside the pot.You could then tie the inside pole to the outside plank for added support.
Good idea!
❤❤❤
Yes! Please do a begonia repotting video 😍
Will do!
Lovely collection.loving the "strappy" leafs
Thanks for taking us along on your plant chores today, it gives us a chance to see some of your lovely healthy plants again. Happy growing.🪴
Thank you lovely! I keep procrastinating the plant tour video because it seems so daunting haha!
Great video, I feel better about my 13° overnight now! We had our couple of weeks of under 6° nights, now we wait for the next time ( maybevone or two more weeks)and thats it for winter here in Rockhampton Queensland. Would love to see a begonia video, mine are doing great ourdoors under the carport out of the wind. Great editing by the way, look forward to your next.
Thank you for your comment :) Yeah we have pretty mild winters but when you're used to a certain climate, it can feel so cold haha Begonia video will be on my to-do list :)
Thanks for showing us how you do the grow poles, that was really helpful. Your collection is so lovely! Yes for begonia video, maybe stem issues video? Like how to divide plants that have grown double stems like philodendron royal queen, and how to deal with big climbers that have developed wonky stems before you get them on a grow pole?
Thank you for your comment! I could try a video like that, generally my advice is always put a plant on a pole asap, especially while they're small because once they establish they're a lot harder to get looking nice.
@@wildvine.plants Thank you, Yeah it kind of was like that when I got it delivered, I guess thats why it was on sale! Its a Philo glorious and the stem is big. Might see if rotating it round the light helps too 🙂
Yes begonia video 🎉
Yay, okay! Might have to wait till it warms up a little though..
Thanks for the tips! 👏🏻
Hello Kate, I have a couple of my nodes rootless on my Gloriosum from when I bought it as it hung over the side of a very small pot. (Got it from Bunnings for $5!!!) This was before Christmas. Its grown across to the other side of the pot now. Today i accidently snapped it off at the base, so i decided to cut it up. I have 2 rootless nodes now. Do you think it wiggling be ok to water root them first? I grow mine in leca.
Hello! Yes, you can definitely try rooting them in water, its definitely the easiest method :) I also LOVE Fernfibre to root cuttings in (but I know its not available everywhere)
What is the best leaf cleaner?
If you're in NZ, Plantbuds leaf shine and protect is amazing. But a neem based spray is always good.
Really enjoyed your presentation love your plants are amazing, and make me want to go shopping! For more plants!
Aw thank you!
Thank you so much for this! I was looking for exactly this - my Gloriosum Zebra has reached the end of her pot and I wanted to cut her up and start the current front piece back at the beginning of the pot so it can crawl back across. :D This was perfect! TYSM!
Such an easy method to keep them a manageable size! I have done this 3 more times since this video :) Gla you enjoyed it!
Yup those are my must haves too! ❤❤
Yay, one of the first viewers 😊. Never happened to me before haha. Love all of your videos
Aw yay! Thank you so much for watching 💛🪴
Thanks for the info.😊
Beautiful collection 🪴
gorgeous monsteras, thank you
Hay love your videos I was wondering witch monstera you wanted that wasn't in nz yet I can try find one for you.😄
Good to know. I got a cutting today and I’m going to lay it horizontally across some soil
I was doing thr same with peperomia. Perfectly looking, thriving, blooming plant happened to have root mealy bugs. So I also washed off all thr soil and left roots in a turmeric water. Now wondering, how will it go after I will plant it into clean soil
Hello, vidéo agréable à regarder. Au plaisir de voir leur évolution. Bises de France ❤
Doing anything with babies or todler make everything fall behind. Great video from washington state with my yelling toddler why I watch.
What is in the moss pole? is it Tree Fern Fiber?
Either Fernfibre or my own custom grow pole mix
Super useful video!
I can't find that groconut stuff anywhere on your website
I no longer sell it because it would go off to quickly. CCS from growth technology is my go-too now, with amazing results.
@@wildvine.plants Oh ok thank you so much!
Wow, the monstera you are growing in your garden is incredible! She's huge! 😍
Hi Kate, my name is also Kate💕 I recently found your channel and love your videos! I just wanted to recommend getting a lapel microphone or some sort of mic. It will level things up for you I promise😍 sending love from Aus xx
Hi Kate! Yessss I know I need a mic, its on my to-get list :)
Hey kate! Thanks for the tour, all your plants look so healthy and happy :) In particular your albo. Those roots are crazy! I’ve been trying to figure out my chunky mix. What ratio/ingredients do you use for yours?
Hey! I use a mix of fern fibre, coco chip, perlite and orchid bark and sometimes biochar, but you can really use any chunky substrates and experiment
Hi Kate, I can’t pick a favourite, your plants all look fabulous, thanks for sharing them with us.
Hard to pick faves aye! 🥰 thank you for watching and leaving a comment, I love reading them.
Beautiful plants 🤩
Thank you!
Love your collection, thank you so much for sharing :D quite in love with the florida, cant wait to have one myself one day! Love the bloopers also xP Keep up the awesome videos!
They're such fun plants to grow! 🥰 thank you for your comment
Hey Kate, your florida look so healthy. I also love that plant especially the mature leaves and such an easy grower 🌿
Yesss, such an easy grower! And adds a nice unique shade of green to the collection
A very enjoyable video! Thanks Kate!
How did you made this kind of pole?
3:04 🤣
My kiwi accent hahah
Hi Kate. Thanks for a great video and an idea I can take from it to pot some spider plant from my garden into Pon. I’m not having much luck with growing them indoors, they start to look sparse and don’t put on any new leaves, so Pon just might do the trick. PS. I love hearing your son playing in the background😀
Yeah it seems to love the Pon life! I never have any luck growing them either apart from this one. Hahahah oh my gosh! He is sooooooo noisy hahaha I have to cut so much out because he's just being a truck or train in the background. But I love it :)
Here was me hoping I'd be able to get away with not repotting my new begonias 😭😹 (soooo over repotting atm). I didn't go for the Don Miller b/c I like my spots distinctive, but your one looks lovely 😊 You've got your Christmas cactus in the right spot. It will let you know when it needs a drink (skin will start to shrivel), they're one of those thrive on neglect plants 😹. There's something about lower light for a period to get them to flower, but winter should take care of that naturally.
Honestly the Begonia will be okay for a while in their pots but I just don't like the nursery mix they use for my watering habbits. Oh thanks for the info on the cactus! I really want it to bloom and hang down all pretty and stuff 😁😁
@@wildvine.plants yeah, I'm never a fan of nursery mix 😹. They'll be easy compared to the nightmare that was repotting my Thai con yesterday though, and I'll have recovered from that multi-hour debacle by the time they get here. A few littlies to get on poles and repot, and then I'm done until spring (she says knowing full well there will be things to be rescued from the Bunnings clearance table... 🤦🏻♀️). Hope your cactus blooms beautifully for you!
PLEASEEEEE do a video like this on the new 3.0 & 3.1 version 😩😭 it’s so confusing and there’s like no videos online that go into such detail and SIMPLICITY like you do!! You literally covered everything, I’m so frustrated I want to return mine if I don’t figure it out 😭
Aw sorry to hear you are struggling! I personally don't really like the new designs so I haven't tried them for myself yet so I a not entirely sure how they clip together. If you have Instagram, find me on there and send me a pic of what they look like and I will try and help you. My IG is wildvine.plants
Gorgeous new begonia! Looking forward to your latest plant tour 😊
Thanks! It will be a long one! Just need to clean the house first haha!
❤❤❤
Looking forward to your plant tour your plants are beautiful ❤
Thanks gal! It'll be a long vid
Hi thanks for sharing your plant tips, I got a baby rescue Staghorn fern from Mitre 10 tragically I mistook the leaf hairs for dust omg and cleaned them off 😱but I think it will recover...anyways I went searching for how to mount them and hope this link will help. They look awesome on driftwood if you can find the right piece and wait till all the salt comes out of the wood! Some people use potting mix and or spaghnum & it might depend on the fern type too. kzread.info/dash/bejne/dHuF0citirmymZM.html
