Join me, Sailor Smurf, as I venture into the world of marine professionals! The Yacht Rigger has allowed me to trip, stumble, and fumble my way through their boatyard as I journey into the world of marine pros. I hope you join me as I seek to learn everything I can from them.

Hi. When you adjust the length, what is locking the line? The adjustment mechanism?
Correct. The splice acts like a “finger trap” type device. Solid.
@@theyachtriggerstpete Can you show a close up of the splice? I'm not quite got the idea in my mind!
Can I get this at West Marine ? Looks idea
Nice setup!
Obviously the customer already purchased the main unit. maybe this size of boat this unit is sufficient for usefulness, and space. On a larger boat, or yacht, (175-499 gross tons)if space, or money is no option, which brand, or unit would you choose on your boat ?
Impressive job!
All good stuff, nicely done.
I’m trying to install Zeus but there is field terminal. Please advise. Thank you
The problem with those units is the affordability. My a/c broke down and a brand new unit is like $1500 Man… And the weather is going crazy, just today it was at 105 degrees f. My sleeping cabin is like a floating sauna 🧖 Does anyone know any affordable place where I could get my old unit fixed in South Florida?
Do you have a link to that furler?
support.seldenmast.com/en/press_releases/cxe45.html Here is the manufacturer site. From there you can find it for sell all over.
Man, you really had me there for a good few minutes, I thought you were going up the dead end! It might be worth mentioning to people to never ascend a mast on a knot or line you (or someone you trust with your life) didn't tie or inspect beforehand. Another life saving trick people need to know is how to at least use a Prusik or Klemmheist as a back-up in case of mishaps. There's nothing like going up the mast and feeling totally comfortable knowing you will be safe because you eliminated those pesky unknown variables beforehand.
Great points! Stay safe out there!
Great tip love it
Thanks! Perhaps I misunderstood but does this mean now that when you get to the top there will be a large loop hanging half way down the mast in the fixed dead-ended side of the line?
Yes, absolutely, there will certainly be a loop hanging down below you.
How long those plastic bearings inside tube last ?
Very interesting! What voltage is this system running on? 120, 48?
These are 230V
Wow hope they are happy with there boat with all the nonsense going on with leopard owners across the world. With repairs and warranty work andandand???? Good luck
We have an update video coming out with them in it! Stay tuned :)
Helps to have some idea of cost - I know every install is unique , but compared to 3 single speed units, is it going to be 2x? 3x?
This system will be 3 x the cost unfortunately but there is nothing like it.
That is so sweet!!I need a boat first though
Haha! I know the feeling!
But yes, would love a diagram & description of the Pepwave setup, with WiFi & 4G/5G angennas, failover, starlink connection, etc.
I hope she has a long and safe journey. Fair winds and following seas.
SA-WEET!
Hello, I would have a technical question. For a `LEOPARD 50Do you know in how many pieces are each hull built? And the assembly of the parts ?
Hello, I would have a technical question. Do you know in how many pieces are each hull built? And the assembly of the parts ?
Hello, I would have a technical question;do you know in how many parts are the L50 hulls built? And d’où you know the process ? Thank you
Love it!
In going thru the Zeus Regulator instructions it appears that a number of fuses are required. I did not note any in this video. This would negate the connecting of the power wires as the fuses are of different amp sizes. Just received a Arco A275 to go with a Zeus purchased a couple months ago. We look forward to a video on this setup as it is a July project.
Even more important with balsa core. Another nice vid
So... did setting it o fire and shooting arrows at it fix your monitor then?
HAHAHAAH.... no...
You could have saved the ball and just cried on it instead.
This would have been ideal...
The question had me going…. Cool experiment!
Is a great product comparison… a month ago I was scratching my head around these two without any results. Now all clear. So helpful….
Glad it was helpful!
why wasn't the alternator voltage being displayed on your phone? while using the Zeus app.
Where did they get the custom manifold to switch from tank to tank
We make it of course :)
That's incredible, they make it look effortless!
Yes they do
Coooool!!
I like the modularity of that setup!
Could you disclose what this project cost? Nice install by the way!
A setup like this with the Super Sail arch, hoisting system, panels, wiring, controllers, etc - the FULL PACKAGE is right around $19k.
👍thank you
Thanks for that. It was very helpful.
Would like to learn more bout that pvc step. Thanks
Noted!
@@TheOnDeckChannel thank you! Love the videos! Very helpful
I would like to see the PVC setup before the install, it's a great idea! Thanks for sharing your expertise...
Coming soon!
Was the arch custom made? Where did it come from?
Another great install. Thanks for sharing. Out of curiosity, what type of wire gland system are you using to get those solar wires through the deck?
That would be the Scanstrut DS-Multi. The 10/2 AWG wires are stripped back out of their sheath before passing through the DS-Multi individually, so, a total of 6 holes in the DS-Multi gland.
Oh my…a monohull! Very informative. Loved the tip on the pvc board. Could you get the numbers on the panels and run down how the 100/50’s were chosen over a 100/30 MPPT? Do the bifacials increase the current that much over the rated 480watts of the front side?
Those are Q-Cell 480W bifacial panels. A 100/30 MPPT would be undersized on this 12V system. Looking at this client's VRM data remotely for today, one of the panels hit a max power output of 584W... so yeah! It happens frequently that they exceed their 480W rating (at least once a week for them it looks like in their data), but it usually doesn't last for long as they heat up and reduce their output. Most commonly that happens mid-day right after a rain shower if you get bright clear skies.
@@FrankTheYachtRigger that’s awesome. I guessed the Q cell (480w) and I think undersizing, in any case, will let them get as much amps as they can when the sun is shining and the dinghy and water are reflecting. (Confession: I work so much in 24v that I didn’t think it through before I asked. New rule: coffee first on Sunday morning!)
Where's the best place in the US to purchase. Looking at using on aluminum trawler diesel tanks.
It’s fine why would it matter way worse happens at sea 🌊 💯
Is it built to the same standard as the Leopard that Sketch Travel got? Wouldn't touch a Leopard catamaran if it was free. Leopard (R&C) is a despicable company.
We work on a lot of these boats and can attest to the fact that while there may be occasional warranty issues, so far Leopard has covered all that we have been associated with.
Sweet!!
I just talked to Brian installation about solar options. He was fantastic. Thanks Brian and thanks for suggesting this channel.
every boat can ruin you...
SO TRUE!
Good Video thanks! Profurls require such an expertise to handle. May I suggest you to put a number on your titles videos, so that if for example there is an additional video that goes on regarding a specific subject, a viewer hasn't to scroll down all your videos? (Just a suggestion).
Great suggestion! We will do this!
