So I do download music off KZread normally but I make sure it’s royalty free (just basically free to use) so that I don’t have to worry about copyright issues:)

Sorry for not answering sooner! No problem:) I’ll do my best to explain but google may be more helpful haha. So first look up royalty free music from KZread that you like. Copy the link. Then open up a new tab and search “KZread to MP3” you’ll find a few websites for that. Paste the link where you should and click download. Now it’s downloaded on your computer. If you have an iPhone, open iTunes. Then click the add>add new file>find where you downloaded the song on your computer. So it’ll be downloaded as a song and you can edit on your phone. If you’re editing on your computer/laptop, do the first few steps but once it’s downloaded on your computer, you’re all set to use it. If you don’t want to use KZread music, just look up royalty free music online and download it if you want. Many free websites/songs do however require that you credit them in the bio of your video. Anyway sorry this is so long, hope it helps!!

How was it being a vegetarian in a Fleisch dominant country?
Kat Broadway for me it was actually no problem. My family ate very little meat and a lot of my friends there are also vegetarian:) so it definitely depends but I’d say it’s almost easier in germany than in the States!

So cool!! Question for you :) How is your German by this point? Did you take German classes before you went?
Marli thank you! Before I came I knew very little german- I used duolingo but that helped very little... I would say my german is pretty good. There are a couple classes where I can’t always follow, but otherwise I understand most (sometimes I have to focus more than normal). Speaking wise, grammar is hard but otherwise it’s also not bad... I definitely have a lot more to learn and at times it’s hard to stay motivated, but it’s worth it :)

I'm filling out my application for CBYX right now, under CIEE. Your videos make me really hope that I get chosen! How did you make it through all the interviews and such? Were you surprised you were selected?
Hope C. Thanks for watching! I'm so glad you're applying and am totally rooting for you!:) I'm not sure if I understand entirely what you mean by how I made it through, but i think you mean like the process? The short version is -my experience, we were first sitting together with ambassadors of CBYX and asking questions/talking. Then one by one we got pulled in and asked questions such as "why did you apply?" "What's your favorite school subject?" "what is one thing you've done that has made you feel most proud/accomplished?" Once that was done, we were put into groups for a team building activity to see how you work with others. That was pretty much all, but I know it's different for each program (afs, ciee, yfu). I was surprised, yes. I completely freaked out when I heard the news (lots of tears haha) but also pretty hopeful since I've been involved with afs for a couple years now. But yes VERY shocked/happy. If you want more information or like tips or anything like that I could totally make a video on it to try and help? Let me know if that would interest you!
