Quality art deco was strikingly beautiful, in contrast to the hideous glass boxes they build today.

White people need to stop wearing culture as costume. Appreciation and supporting Roma designers, Native Indigenous artisans is cool but having the boho aestetic as a white person and not actually having reverence and knowledge has gone on for too long. Romani people continue to experience structural racism around the world.

I made a drawer type easy diy cat litter box. My cat loves it so much he hasn't gone back to his plastic one. The reason why he loves it is because it is sturdy and the box would not move. I was told by the vet that cats stay longer in the litter box when they like it. I see my cat in the litter box more often these days. I know that it was one of my biggest DIY success items. Now I have a happier cat.

For my money, the Chrysler building is the most beautiful building of all. The verticality of the building (and I suppose most art deco architecture) is interesting when you compare it to the verticality of gothic cathedrals. It's almost like a humanistic version of that original gothic verticality, perhaps. The search, not for God, but for human excellence. I really think that the Chrysler building is kind of a dialogue between modern architecture and gothic architecture. Also, at 1:18, the third poster from top left is a species of Futurism, I believe. 1:28. You know, when I see this building, my first thought is "Bauhaus." I could be off there.

Don't understand why Americans keep conveniently "confusing" Art Deco (which is a French style), with Streamline and post Depression design in America.

Art Deco is the greatest artistic movement in Western History. It has been all down hill since the "death" of Art Deco in 1950. Athoritarian Modern then took over, and went about it's murderous rampage. Post Modern has goven us some hope, but it too is far too weak to ever fully bring back the great design motifs of past centuries.
