I love daily vlogs but it might be easier for you to do it for the week. We had meetings last Monday and Tuesday, a half day with kids Wednesday, and finally meetings Thursday and Friday. Kids come full time starting Monday……I’ve got 23 fifth graders in my room.

I have bought those paper decorations- the middle part should be adhesive - just peel the white strip off like a sticker, then reinforce with the paper clip. Holds up pretty well.
Yes normally that's how there are but these had paper clips instead.

How do you like Wonders? My district is just adopting it. I am a bit nervous.
Wonders is okay but I had to supplement it with other things. The rigor is real low compared to the standards that are tested in my state.
Turn in bins would be a better idea to be in the student area instead of the front of the classroom.

Hi, I have a question as a parent. I saw your first video where you had gifted students doing accelerated math. My daughter is going into 3rd, with her friends from last year. However, her friends have accelerated in the class schedule but my daughter doesn't. Same teacher, at the same time. We are also here in Florida, with big ideas as her math curriculum. She has tested for gifted but I never found out if she was put in it. sorry for the long post. Does this mean she's not in the gifted program? she's an A student so far, but I don't want her to be in the wrong class if she's not supposed to be there. thank you, btw I love your videos, I've been watching them all.
@@Spoiled8919 Hi! You don't have to be gifted to take accelerated math. Half of was class was gifted and the rest weren't. They probably will give her accelerated math anyway but it should be on her schedule. If she was tested for gifted it takes about a month for the results from the psychologist. There are 2 options. Plan A, extremely high IQ and plan B high IQ but on free or reduced lunch. Email me, I'll explain how to qualify for plan B. There is also private gifted testing. At my school we do gifted/high advance so if you want her labeled as gifted be adamant about her being placed. Parents can request to have their child tested every 2 years by law.

Your classroom is warm and inviting, FYI I don't know if your school is a title one school, If it is you can write to donors choose. It's an organization that help teachers buy supplies for their classroom. I hope this help.

I love that your school allows you to set up your classroom ahead of time. In my district, we have to turn in our keys on the last day of school and we can’t get them until two weeks before school starts.
I always go a week before school starts, this year I went earlier because I wanted to paint.

I absolutely love your classroom. I know you mentioned in previous vlogs, but where did you get your math vocabulary words, your math words, and math anchor charts. I do like the lanterns. I wish I could hang things from my ceiling.

I absolutely LOVE bot sets of lanterns and disco balls! I would keep them as is!! Also, what did you use to attach your LED lights to your boards and tv? I am using duck tape and its not sticking - help (lol).
Thank you. LED lights are peel and stick. You lights should come with a backing that is removable.

Hi, why don’t you have a studnet desk connected to your desk this school year ? Just curious please answer
If a student is a problem, they sit in isolation instead of with others. School has not started so I don't know what I am dealing with.
@@Teachingonsunshine that makes sense . How many studnets do you have sit at the kidney table for small group? Do you ever have a student sit right next to you at the kidney table ? How long do you have the student sit in isolation like next to you? Please answer just curious .
I have 5-6 max at the kidney table. I am in the middle and they are around me. They technically are sitting by themselves in isolation since I never sit at my teacher desk. But if you are a behavior problem you sit in isolation all year. They tend to like it honestly. They are allowed to leave to join groups but their base is a stand alone desk.

@@swinapatel9310 They don't tell me they want to sit alone, I tell they they are moving. All 6 kids sit around the table. I teach 3rd, kids so not run the in hallway. That normally happens in lower grades. I am strict teacher therefore my student are disciplined. They know my expectations and act accordinigly.
I think the lanterns look nice! I love that you are so detailed and such...makes me feel good about my extreme type A teacher personality. Ha ha! Please make some videos about prepping your home life, clothes you may get for school, and just getting back in the swing of things for school videos!

I am that teacher who feels that their class is also the loudest class. However, academically I know they are in the same level as the other classes and just happen to know a lot of fun trivia( which I always seem to share during lessons!) 😊
