I met Helio in 95 at Relson's Dojo at the University of Hawaii. I was so honored at the time to watch Helio teach in Portugeese, with his sons Relson, Rorion, and Royce translating for us. And then the celebration of the new dojo near Hanauma. I have a great photo of Helio and I right after my first tournament at UH. Awesome memories. Humble Gratitude.

Humility ? 😂 He presents himself as the best fighter in the world, says that japanese jiu jitsu is nothing compared to brazilian one, lies about how the fight with Kimura actually happened. You call that humility ?

Jui jitsu is Japanese. There’s not one thing Brazilian does that’s different from the Japanese version. Calling it Brazilian doesn’t make it Brazilian. And he created nothing

Actually it’s Chinese. It was developed from earlier Chinese arts. Which in turn was developed from Indian martial arts. Which was influenced by Greek Pankration. And on and on and on.

  • @asharedo

Lmao Helio says they threw in the towel but that he was fine and they shouldn't have??? In reality, his shoulder was broken in two places (even Rener Gracie admits this).

Such an ignorant guy.... never wants to admit defeat.... he said that the jiu Jitsu Kimura had was a beginner level compared to his jiu Jitsu... bullshit if it was then why’d you get your arm get locked up by kimura? Gracies are sore losers..... never wants to pay respect to the pioneers the Japanese for the art of jiu Jitsu if it wasn’t for Japan your family would be nothing pay your respects...

fuck you dude there is no invincible martia ary your sons lost in todau mma, in vale tudo and in a ton of grappling competions. you steal kano jujutsu(judo) techniques and mix them with some catch whille you make some inovetions but bjj is a sport too at least you give credit to carlo for that but you forgot your 3 other brothers especially george and fadda. The video is a commercial for ronion garcie and gracie humaita and gracie university

lies and lies.. luta livre was the most successful in vale tudo, george gracie was the best fighter in gracie familly, today jj has involved far futher than helio things by brazilians Japanese americans. You need technic, condition and strenght one is not enough. kimura choke you out break your hand and was smaller and shoeter but gracie won again. Also helio had the chance for rematch
