Beautiful work! you teach so well! Thank you for sharing your knowledge. I've been venturing into knitting recently and I don't know much. Could anyone help me and answer a question?… after row 8, just repeat all the rows until the desired size? I'm from Brazil and my English isn't good and the translator sometimes fails, so it wasn't very clear to me…. I must have done something wrong 🤦🏽♀️😅 repeat row (1, 2.8 for 16 times) or rows of (1 to 8 for 16 times)??? hahaha you make it look so easy! I've started over so many times and I still can't get out of line 8, today I did it but something isn't right 😂 help me please 😅

Hi, thank you for a great tutorial! How many stitches would you recommend for a head circumference 58-59 cm?
@mirellamoments9455 Жыл бұрын
Hi, thank you for your feedback. The hat is quite stretchy, so I'd recommend to cast on 2 or 4 additional stitches (56 or 58 stitches).

Would head circumference be equal to the finished length? Or does it need to be shorter or longer? I want to make one for my five year old
@mirellamoments9455 Жыл бұрын
Hi, the headband is stretchy so the finished length should be shorter than the head circumference, about 10% shorter.

Hi Mirella and thank u for that tutorial. I am currently knitting your Quartz Headband & came to half way when twist occurs, I have tried everything & cannot figure out how to do it, do you have any tutorial online for this. I thought I might just finish the length and try your 'twist' method but I think it would be too bulky for this, can you help please??!! Many thanks, Margaret
@mirellamoments94552 жыл бұрын
Hi Margaret! Sorry, I don't have a tutorial for the cable twist, but I'll try explain it here. The twist is one large cable, so you make it as any other cable. You slip half of the stitches on a cable needle, work the other half of the stitches, and then work the stiches from the cable needle. Then you continue knitting as you normally would. At first the twist will look weird, but work a few rows and it will look fine. I hope this helps!

@@mirellamoments9455 Many thanks, Mirella. I had tried & tried & ripped about 20 times. Finally last night, I decided to separate and knit up half stitches separately for about 6 rows & then cross over & pick up all stitches - I then knitted a couple of rows & think it works, but at that stage it was midnight, so I left it!!! and will return to it tonight. I had reckoned from your instruction on pattern that it was just like a normal cable, just bigger, but just couldn't get it to work, I was obviously doing something wrong. I just had a look also at your tutorial of the simpler twisted headband, so will try that also, when I finally get this one done!!! Again, I really appreciate your reply & many thanks for your patterns. Kind regards, Margaret

@@margaretduffy143 You're welcome, I hope the headband will turn out great! Yes, you could also separate your knitting, work for a couple of rows, cross the two halves, and continue knitting. That's another way to create an interesting twist.

@@mirellamoments9455 Thanks again, Mirella - I'm afraid it didnt really work out with the two halves, I just think it was a bit too bulky - so long story short, I decided to continue to knit it to full length and will cinch it in the middle with a band! Then I will do your other pattern! HAPPY ST PATRICK'S DAY - the sun is shining here in Dublin today, so hoping it continues for tomorrow!
