I had an 82 Yamaha IT 175. I heard the PE was a great similar bike.

In the late 70’s and throughout the 80’s Suzuki was quite adamant about complying to our Federal Laws. They actually employed people to go to their dealer network unannounced to check all the safety components for proper installation and operation. From the front brakes to the tail light. On road, off-road & ATV’s got the once over. The Factory allowed a given number of marks annually to the Dealer. Eclipse that number and the Dealer was fined. How or how much I never knew bcuz I turned wrenches. Sales and Front Office dealt w/American Suzuki. All this stress on the Dealers while basic bicycles and skateboards flew off store shelves by the thousands daily w/all their safety features, right? Not !!! Back then U S Forestry Service, U S Park Management & The Bureau of Land Management (BLM).

Awesome job mate. I do the same thing, restore them old two strokes. Good job on the tank too. And it's all the other little details that make the difference.

Nice I had an 83 PE175..I would race RM's and blow them up and practice on the PE..never touched it and never blew it up..unbelievably hard to kill machine...engine is like a ER185 but heaps more rpm.

In the US the national forest is managed by the Forest Service. There are some trails that you can ride on and a requirement is a spark arrestor to supposedly stop forest fires. The rangers that patrol the parks know nothing about dirt bikes so, if it doesn't have a sticker or stamping saying it's approved then they will ticket you or throw you out. The stamping is Suzuki complying with US requirements.

@ronnyrooster816428 күн бұрын
Got them from Harley Heaven in Australia. I think they're called 'spacers' as they increase the height of the existing risers.
