More out of balance than a bent blade.
Having had a Craftsman 1000 kholer for many years and still running but it's time to upgrade. After lots of KZread and Google and physical researching I went to a FERRIS Dealership TOPS. In my area Harlingen TX according to them nobody has any 42" or 48" available not even the warehouse, they'll have to be made and it'll take around 2 to 6 months to a year. 8-5 Hrs of operation and they're always jammed with people needing service but they don't can't help anybody. TERRIBLE customer service so just imagine trying to get parts or maintenance. Stopped at a KUBOTA and customer service was fast attentive huge store and fully stocked organized plus they have many Kubota locations everywhere. 4 year warranty too. Bought the KUBOTA 42" Z232 Kawasaki zero turn with free delivery next day. Very happy with SERVICE and feel confident about continuing business with Kubota and will be buying more from them .
Good, Thx
Does your head now hit the rop bar with added height of the seat suspension?
@@user-wo7rz3yn4o nope, it doesn’t add that much height. Only enough to have to adjust the height on the lap bars.
Purchased the kart mate pro for my Wright ZK 52. I am a professional lawn contractor hence why I purchased this piece of equipment. I have not received it yet as it is still going through customs however this is engineered and designed to spec unlike the cowboy comments above. There are so many uses this product will provide for my business. Cannot wait to get it fitted up and put to work this season. Great video mate. From Australia
@@tyronecashin4351 people on the internet are quick to to judge stuff they have zero clue about or are scared of or don’t understand. You will love it when you get it! Mine paid for itself the first day I used it.
We just got one second hand. $5500 at 180 hours on the gauge. First ever zero turn and I'm so excited for this evening. The little testing I did felt amazing. Especially considering our other mowing machine is an 05-06 Kubota garden tractor that's starting to show its age something fierce. We've had it over 10 years. The mower on it wobbles under it and the engine has to be jumped sometimes because it just doesn't even try to start.
One of the best at explaining mower details that I have ever listened to. Please continue to use this guy
I appreciate that. You made my day. Thanks for watching!
Bolting crap on any zero turn is a losing proposition. Always gets in the way of going around and up to trees, it rusts, the bolts rattle and come loose nope.
👍
I have one. Only thing I don't like is it does not have a throttle/trigger lock.
That's a awful lot of stress on the front of the mower.
Still taking it like a champ 3 or 4 years later
If your blade is bent, what do you do with it? Can it be fixed or is it time to buy a brand new blade?
Gotta get a new one. Trying to bend it can cause the metal to become brittle and make it break very easy.
My blade in the middle is is about 3mm above the other two and I get that same little stripe like you showed
I did that once and realized I forgot to put one of my washers back on when I put new blades on. Could be a spindle issue as well, can’t say for sure
@@ProgressiveLawnService had the spindle rebuilt I put washers on it to make all blades even see what happens when I go out mowing customers
Whats this called
You need to adust your detacher, so that both front and reae tines are touching the grass at rhw aame time/ level.
I don’t even have it anymore. This video is from a few years back
@@ProgressiveLawnService oh, my bad. I didn't see the date the video was posted.
@@HGAviator all good! I at least appreciate you watching. 🤘
You only showed us you sharpened them, but you didn’t show us how to fix the problem
I barely remember what I did in this video. Made it like 3 years ago and the algorithm randomly shot it up in views. I took the blade that was bent and threw it away and replaced it with a new one
What setting do you use 1,2 or 3 i just have take off 1 blade on toro tightened to 65lbs
You could make a shield with light gauge steel to cover up the deck rise and lower mechanism under neath. I just got one for my Mother and they told me to push the deck lift foot pedal and take some tension off the deck before adjusting the dial raise and lower knob. Maybe try that before turning the knob!
I honestly considered doing that years ago and just never followed through with it.
What is that system you used to sharpen your blades...looks awesome
I use an All American Sharpeners Model 5005 to sharpen them, it’s a jig that holds the blade and grinder at the perfect angle to sharpen them. Then I balance with a MagnaMatic mag 1000 balancer.
You need new blades
It was just the one blade but wound up swapping it out for another from an older set. I’ve since replaced them all though, this was from several years ago.
Love it! Thanks for sharing ❤❤❤
What is the tool or the vise where you set the baldes for re-sharpening?? Where can i get that??
Great video, but I won’t be spending bout $250 on a balancer. Thanks for the info though.
I think it's a 24.5 hp engine. 27hp is the fx801v
👍👍👍
The new 6 Pack Bags Innovator 800! Holds 8 meals and has tons of ice packs and plenty of space for other things!
I never mow when it's even a little wet. I know if you do it for a business, you need to, but for people just mowing their lawns, don't mow when it's wet? Unless you live in England, you should have plenty of dry days to mow and not worry about the deck getting gunked up.
Grass just builds up regardless if it’s wet or not. I haven’t cut this year once when it was even damp and I can tell you I need to clean up under there and put this stuff on again. Unless it hasn’t rained for 4 or 5 months on end then maybe you can get lucky and never have to do any cleaning under there.
which model do you have ? ... you just say, They have all of these ....
I have the Kart Mate Pro
@@ProgressiveLawnService Not the cart ... the hitch
$216 for the balance tool mounted to the wall! Wow!
They were $175 when I made this video several years ago.
Wow, a $200 blade balancer.
I want to get to this level of skill😂
Just takes some practice!
Late Spring stripes are on 🔥🔥
Never sharpen your lawn mower blades razor sharp sharpen them at a 30° angle and the edge of the blade should be 25,000 radius.... The first quarter inch of your blade does most of the cutting... Make sure your deck is level from side to side in the front should dip down a quarter inch lower than the rear... That's The Sweet spot...😊
Back in the good old days on eighth of an inch run out on your mower blade was the limit of run out that was acceptable.... So don't be throwing. . away a good blades... I'd like you to know the standard of run out still applies to modern day so that way you won't misunderstand what I said... A blade can have a 1/8 inch run out..😮
That's good. Unless you have a bent spindle.
New blade solved the problem. I was very worried that’s what it was.
Bearings in spindle let go and the blade shaft dropped down lower then the other blades
One of the things I first thought as well (and was worried about). Swapped the blade out and it cut great again
@@ProgressiveLawnService much cheaper then new spindle. Be well.
@@CC-nq7mp that’s right! You as well, thanks for watching
I like the simple green idea, first thing I thought though was I'm using a pump up sprayer to apply that. Thx for the video!
Absolutely! Simple green works great for so much stuff. Thanks for watching 👊
Absolute rubbish about a bent blade leaving ridges! You are using a ROTARY mower, ergo the blade/s rotate in the horizontal plane, therefore the low AND high side of the blade/s both pass over the area of grass multiple times as you mow. A bent blade will result in an uneven cut if you rush the. Mower! II too am in my 70’s and have been cutting grass for over 50 years!
You’re right. I made this up. How did you know? 🙄
i look at a lawn like yours and wonder what would bend your blades. something much easier and faster is check tire pressure. you probably have a flat tire. 9 out of 10 times it is a low tire not a bent blade
At the time of filming this I was also cutting grass as a side business. But I don’t recall hitting anything. I think the blade was just worn, it had quite a few hours and lawns on it
You wouldn't run out of gas If you look down at the sight glass for the gas😅
That fuel window sucks. I’ve never trusted it on any mower I’ve ever had.
I have the fs91 with the speed feed head and guard on. The line does not meet up with the line cutter…. It will not cut the line. Any input? Thanks!
The speed feed head might be putting the string a different distance away from where the stock head has the line. I put a speed feed head on after I took my guard off so I can’t say from experience what’s causing it.
I have the exact same balancer and just love it! It moves so freely.
They’re sweet!
For 12 dollars a can, I will clean my deck by hand.
Enjoyed the videos, bent blade & fire pit. The blade balancer? Name & brand? The building is just like mine, I have a 12x20, but different color. Got it from Amish builder in North Carolina through dealer in SW Virginia.
The balancer is a Mag-1000 made by Magnamatic. It’s an awesome tool! Only thing I don’t like about our shed is I wish we had gotten a larger one 😂 other than that, it is solid, made by the Amish as well. Thanks for watching!
Great review just picked mine up today I already love it I need to change the trimmer line though I’ve been using the ECHO black diamond line and I love it
I still love mine too. Perfect power to weight ratio in my opinion. I like the Stihl CF3 line. Cuts like butter
@@ProgressiveLawnService I still need to test some stuff I’m 13 and really now starting to invest in some higher end commercial stuff I’ll keep that line in mind once I hit the end of my black diamond spool
@CoastalYardCleanup gotcha, let me know how it goes!
Great video. Very helpful. I use Dewalt myself big fan.
Absolutely! Thanks for watching 👊
I use used motor oil and lard. Just put some lard and used motor oil in a container heat it in a microwave stir it up to make a paste then brush in on. Works great.
Which trimmer do you like better? The Stihl FS91R or the Husqvarna 324L? Can you do a comparison between the 2?
The Stihl. Hands down. Thing is an absolute monster.
Thanks. Was having a hard time deciding, but then saw you owned both. Stihl it is.
Gonna do another update video? I'm about to purchase a Z412KW-48 for residential use and would like your opinion of this series mower almost three years later.
Wasn’t planning on it but I can tell you I have about 520 hours on it now and still love it. New blades and an oil change a few weeks ago and it just keeps on rocking.
where did u get the jack
Harbor Freight. Fischer Series Pro Lift. I’ll be doing a video on it at some point here soon. I love it
Had mine 5 years and learned things from this video I never knew! With you totally on the height turn dial, BTW, that can be a PIA.
Thanks for watching! This machine has been great to me over the years. The turn dial is the worst 😂
@@ProgressiveLawnService Agree! I finally got serious about loosening it up last season and it has been behaving itself since. Otherwise, love the machine!
